over head microwave installation

3 cheers installed it myself in under 2 hours - including taking the old one out first. I did replace the wall bracket and had to drill new upper holes. If your pretty handy you can deal with it :)

Built solidly and looks good. Controls are intuitive to use. This is a very powerful and capable equipment for a family of 6. Only drawback were installation templates that were hard to locate support brackets and screws.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Problems with sound

I bought GE microwave in August 2023 and today Septembers 3, 2024 sound when I press the button stopped working - this is 1 year and 2 weeks after the purchase date. I checked the manual and tried “sound on/off” (pressed button 0 for 3 seconds) but nothing changed. What kind of quality is this? What is wrong with you GE?

This microwave is fine. No bells and whistles. Just a standard microwave that hasn't really changed or improved over 20 years. In fact, you might argue it's gone backwards - this microwave is noisier and seems less efficient than my 2008 Frigidaire that had the same wattage rating. I want to highlight that this microwave is louder than you might expect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We can understand having a manual copy can be a lot easier.
