Bought as it was rated a consumer's best buy. I had to have the exterior light ballast serviced less than a month after buying. The other irritating thing is not being able to see how to turn the lights on,as the background is black and does not light up...overall, it's OK but wish I would have spent more money and upgraded to a nicer model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WE BOUGHT THIS NEW "SLATE" COLOR MICROWAVE TO MATCH OUR GE ELECTRIC RANGE. WE ARE HAPPY WITH BOTH PRODUCT, WE ALSO HAVE A GE WASHER AND DRYER PURCHASED IN 2014 AND THEY ARE WORKING GREAT AS WELL. NO PROBLEMS, WE WILL CONTINUE TO BUY GE APPLIANCES.

Good Ecomoical Microwave

I brought this microwave at few months ago as a replacement. It has a round turntable which does not allow cooking in as large a dish as a square table. The turntable can be turn off, which allows use of larger dishes, but you have to manually rotate the dish. The power is lower than the previous microwave I have owned. The worst thing is that there is a hot spot (cooks hotter) in the middle of the turntable which makes cooking bacon almost impossible without a burned spot in the bacon. I've had many microwaves over the years: This is the first one with a hot spot. If you cook for continuously for over 15 minutes the ventilating fan automatically starts to cool the electronics. This is good for the unit, but annoying. I have never had one do this before this one. Over all, I would say it has an average rating.
