The appliance were a package that are install by the builder in most of their homes unless you opt for the more expensive package.The microwave works fine but the control panel is very hard to see and read unless the lights are up all the way.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disapointment in black and grey

This looked like an ideal kitchen appliance. However, in the bright light of the store, the control words were legible. Here, unfortunately, we have to use a flashlight to read the faint gray printing on the controls. Extremely annoying. I should have returned it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The control panel needs a backlight, if it is dark in the room you can't see to push the light button or any of the others.

I purchased this product after I bought my home and I don't regret a second of it. I have 6 children and this microwave saves my families day almost every day. It cooks perfectly.

Ridiculously hard to install filter

My husband and I have been working for about 2 hours now to install this. Directions are difficult to read and preparation to install much more complicated than necessary. Don't know how it works yet but I'm already skeptical. Truly, I thought I was buying a different product, and due to many problems with GE appliances which have been replaced, I would not have bought it if I realized it was GE
