My husband and I bought this appliance in October 2016. It sits nicely above the new stove and works very well. I like the options we have in cooking. The express cooking choices and the power level of cooking are what I use most often. The only negative about this appliance is the there is no back lighting to the buttons of choice...they are hard to see the choices. I have to say, that I would still buy this appliance again and would recommend this appliance.

Everything we wanted

We bought this model as it came in a matching color to the GE Profile range we purchased at the same time. It replaced a very similar one that came with our newly constructed home 17 years so we were familiar with the features and knew we would be happy with it. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because the keypad is not easily read in less than full light. The printing on the panel is attractive but not easily read. Otherwise the operation and appearance are top notch. I love the way it looks in the slate color and how it nicely accents my kitchen.

Not heating after three months of use

I bought 4 appliances, about 1 month ago. I love the Slate color, and having the extra space on my counter! I have only 1 issue with the microwave. The filters for the exhaust, keep popping out when I close the door, so I rated the quality 4 stars. This has happened 4 times. Otherwise, it is easy to use.

Great match to our other slate GE products

Microwave works very well. The only problem is that the keyboard is not back-lighted and therefore I have to turn on the kitchen light to see the buttons, an inconvenience.

I purchased my GE Microwave in January 2017. I had to purchase this particular one because my previous Microwave was a GE and this was the one that will fit in between the cabinets. After about 2 months I noticed in the window what looked like a separation about the size of a dime. Apparently, if it doesn't affect the performance there is nothing that can be done to find out what this is. Now it's June and this plastic separation has grown to the size of a quarter. I'm concerned that this could be some kind of protective film or something is slipping in between the glasses. I would have taken this thing down myself and returned it to the place of purchase months ago but I had to pay quite a bit to have it installed by my contractor. Now I'm stuck with this ugly thing that anyone who comes over asks me what on earth is that? I tell them that it's the mark of shoddy workmanship of the product. Very very disappointed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great looking microwave

Oven looks great and matches our stove well, even if it is a different brand. Installation was fairly easy except for one hiccup- the instructions incorrectly told me to point the vent fan blades facing the top when using a ductless application when in fact they should be pointing towards the front of the oven(where the vent grill is). Luckily I figured this out before I installed it. Our last GE microwave lasted 23 years so we'll see how this one stacks up!

Fit perfectly

I bought this to replace my old microwave that stopped working after 15 years of use. My biggest concern was that it would fit above my stove and between the cabinets on both sides. Although many models seem standard the critical parameter was the height of the unit as there is tile extending up the back to the bottom of the microwave. After removing the old unit I used the enclosed template marked the new holes attached the bracket and yahoo slide the GE unit into place that fit perfectly. I had 1/8 inch play at the bottom. Also the instructions were easy to follow when changing the vent fan from top to back venting. It matched the existing back outside vent perfectly.
This unit looks really nice has no additional front vents so will eliminate accumulation of grease from the stove. It also heats items up quicker than the last unit even considering they were both 1,000 watts. I am very pleased with it's functionality and only time will tell if I can get anther 15 years from this unit.
