Good oven

This microwave oven works well. The only issue I have is key pad is very difficult to see. Characters are not pronounced enough. Should be backlighted or made more prominent.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased microwave about 2 months ago. Initial unit was returned (due to a damaged exterior.) Unit is simple to use, with features which are more in tune with my lifestyle.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Been using for 1 month. The control panel does not light up or have easily seen control buttons. I have to turn on a kitchen light to use it. Very frustrating. I am learning the location of each button but come on! Everything else works great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Feels cheaply constructed compared prior GE

1.Door has to almost be forced shut. It needs an amount of force to close that sometimes causes the vent grills underneath to actually fall out. We assume this banging will break the light inside, long before it might actually burn out. Conversely, it's hard to open. have to almost jerk it open.
It feels cheap and rattles abit when you operate the door..
2.The unit is underpowered. Power level 10 means , 8.5 or 9 compared to prior model,(which we had for almost 15 years!)
3.The magnetron is warrantied for ONLY 1 year! Our prior GE Microwave magnetron, same type of unit, had a 10 year warranty, which was needed after 6 years. This is very disappointing.
4.The LED light panel is not well designed. The numbers are jammed together to get the light display into a too small space, making it somewhat hard to read. More importantly, the numbers are glaringly bright! What for?
5.Finally, the GE logo painted a bold dark color against the bisque color paint, is now stamped right in the middle, above the door glass, adding annoying advertising to what should be a kitchen applicance that should color-wise gracefully blend into the background. Very disappointing. Goodbye GE.

GE over the stove/oven microwave

This was purchased to replace an earlier version that was effectively destroyed by my granddaughter who left a metal spoon on the plate of food she wanted to heat up. The new one was somewhat difficult to install but is great to use.
