I THOUGHT the installation would be just a swap out, but ALL THE HOLES AND BRACKET had to be re-positioned, and replaced! Nothing lined up with the “look alike” GE I was replacing! — hopefully, this will now be as long lasting as the previous one, which started crashing (electronic clysatron feedback - (spelling?)) — but only after MORE THAN 14 years without a single “hiccup” in service!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Really dislike this model. My old GE wa# great. Can’t see control panel. Need light or illuminated words or something. Very unhappy with this model.

Bought this 4 months ago at move in. It is so easy to program. Works great. Powerful. Only thing I don't like so much is, compared to microwaves in the past, I can't really monitor the progress of cooking (such as if something is about to boil over) through the front glass due to the heavy screening, but likely safer than prior models too, less radiation escaping.
I would recommend this to a friend!

When less than two years old the handle broke. At two and a half years the oven died.

Fully quit working a year after warranty was up

I purchased this model March of 2016, installed it over my range and it worked great for about a year and a half. Then about 6 months ago we started noticing that when we opened the door during heating, the breaker would trip off. Researched the issue and found this was common with certain GE microwaves, including this model (just Google "ge microwave trips breaker when door opens"). It's not an overloaded circuit, I had a new circuit dedicated just for the microwave because we had issues before. Doesn't matter what outlet it's plugged into, now as soon as you start heating, it trips off without opening the door or doing anything. This is obviously a defect in design, I would expect a good quality microwave to last at least 10 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
