this microwave has a very high rating on consumer reports which lead us to look at it. it has all the features that I wanted including a timer for when I bake. Most of all, this is the quietest running microwave that we have ever owned and I have had a microwave since the 1970's. I even taught microwave cooking classes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Microwave kept knocking out power when door opened

NOT HAPPY at all! lasted less than 9 months and the last month keeps shorting out when opening door after pressing stop. My first GE lasted 20 years!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is our third GE microwave. We keep buying the same one over and over again as long as they make it will buy it. Last forever and easy to install. Love GE.

died after one year

It died after one year. This unit suddenly went dark, everything quit. It is on it's own circuit. Checked breaker, outlet. no obvious reason to quit
