Very disappointed

Bought 2 weeks ago. Keypad not user friendly with non sensual placement of buttons with hard to read labels and clock is useless--spacing too close together so a 6 and an 8 look the same because the colon is too close. Dimensions also messed up - 1/2 inch deeper than my old one. Want my old one back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You won’t find a better microwave for your money. Excellent replacement for previous GE microwave that was more than 20 years old.

I had a GE, then other brands. The new 'Other Brand' doesn't even have a timer! What were they thinking? Went with GE again. Express Cook does it all and effortlessly. The timer lets you know when it's due and you don't miss it with a beep. Nicely done with years of service and knowledge of how it should be efficient.

Very good basic microwave

This is a great, no frills model. We bought it because it was most similar to our previous model and we didn’t have to change any of the venting or mounting hardware. It does a great job heating our food. Some features have changed for the worse. We don’t like the clock, which is difficult to read because the numbers are so close together. We also don’t like that the buttons have to be pressed very hard. And it has an unfortunate feature that if there’s too long of a delay after you put food in it won’t turn on - you have to open and close the door first. I also miss the reminder (timer) function of the previous model.

We had one installed and it came with a dent in the door, so we had to wait for a replacement. The door requires too much effort to open and close, and is noisy. The display panel is not lit, requiring a flashlight in low light situations. The first time I turned on the surface light one of the light bulbs blew out and it is not an easy light bulb to find in the store. It seemed to cook a large baking potato unevenly. It does heat a cup of water for tea, which is largely what we use it for.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
