Tired of replacing

Could be better!

We had a GE before and was happy with and this one fit the space and the price was right. Two problems - stainless is very smudgy an requires a lot of work to keep it looking good (next time I will be a smudge-proof one. It's worth it); the other big problem for me is that the screen is all black and is very hard to see the press buttons without glasses.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello palmike - Thanks for posting a review on your microwave.While the stainless steel finish is not fingerprint resistant, it is easily cleaned with a damp, soapy cloth. If you periodically clean the stainless steel surface with a stainless steel cleaner, then this will provide a protective coating where fingerprints and stains can be easily wiped off.

good microwave

Bought this unit to replace another GE microwave that was close to 10 years old. This unit was as close as I could come to the original unit. The reason that I do not give this unit a 5 star rating is the display. I did not know it was a white clock/timer display. The old one was green in color. The white light is hard to read and the numbers are too close together to see at a distance. The number pad is also hard to read. Not enough contrast from the printing on the pad to the black background of the pad to see in any thing but bright light. If I knew that the display and number pad was going to be a problem, I would not have bought this unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quite similar to the unit that had to be replaced

The microwave is very similar to the unit being replaced except for position changes on the control panel. Only complaint is the physical appearance of the control panel, i.e., if there is any light or reflection behind the user, it makes it very difficult to identify what the title of the various "buttons" is. I had to create a copy of the panel on my computer and paste it next to the microwave to help identify exactly where the various buttons are located. Future remodeling of the microwave might involve changing the appearance of the control panel so that it is not affected by exterior lighting.
I would recommend this to a friend!
