The handle is hard to to pull and for locking too!

The looks and cosmetic of this unit is great and did prompt the decision to buy. Unfortunately did not test the pull and closing force needed to open and close the microwave door and it felt clunky in its use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Microwave works great

This is a purchased replacement from the corresponding model I had from a few years back. The microwave part is great, but the touch pad is 10 steps down from a previous model. It’s hard to see the what the buttons say (my vision is fine). They are no longer user friendly as far as the placement of those buttons. The touch pad is not responsive as the other models I’ve had. Need a flashlight to see it. Poor engineering. This is the 4th I’ve had, so I’m sure. I’d only recommend this model if they improved the touchpad. I just asked my husband what he thinks and he noticed the same issue. He never has an opinion on kitchen appliances, really!

Very Disappointed!

I’m very disappointed with this microwave! Since the day it was installed we have never been happy with it. Yesterday April 23rd as I’m opening up the door the handle breaks off. The surface lights are constantly burning out or they become loose and have to be tightened up.

Bad light bulbs

Have had microwave for 6 months, I am now on my 6th surface light bulbs, other than having to replace bulbs every 2 month functions well. Wish the buttons would light up so u could see what you are hitting at night.

This GE microwave oven has just one major area of aggravation: the control buttons, which fall short of the mark in two ways. Since they lack any sort of back lighting, the timer and function buttons (on the right side of the oven) are very difficult to see clearly at night. And there are a lot of these buttons, so it takes a while to remember automatically which ones are which. Keep a small flashlight at hand.
The other drawback also pertains to those buttons: They require a large amount of pressure to respond. If you have arthritis or have fingers that are otherwise sensitive, you will likely find pressing those buttons to be uncomfortable. All of that said, this is a very smooth, capable microwave with plenty of power, an efficient pair of lights (two brightness settings) to illuminate your gas or electric stove, and a solid feel to the door as you open and close it.
