Easy to use.

Controls are straight forward and simple. Has more settings than the Amana it replaces.

I think your quality went down hill. The clock numbers and colon touch each other making it hard to read unlike the one I replaced which was also GE.

Number three and counting...

I really like the features, but the durability is a problem. The first GE microwave we owned lasted eight years, so when it stopped working, we decided to buy another GE. Since GE had discontinued that model, we bought one with similar features and style. Unfortunately, the heating element went out during the fourth year. The heating element cost a bit more than half of the replacement cost, so we cut our potential loses and bought another one. The 5 year extended warranty cost more than a replacement, so no extended warranty. Now, another four years down the road and the heating element on that one goes out. Still no extended warranty due to cost. Now we're on our third, hoping to get a few more years. You are probably asking yourself, why keep buying the same appliance when it keeps breaking in a few years, and the answer is simple, "mounting". There are multiple holes in the cabinet and wall from earlier microwaves, maybe the house is cursed, so buying the same model at least limits any additional holes. We really do like the microwave, we just wish it was more durable.

BEAUTIFUL PRODUCT TO LOOK AT AND USE!

My new G.E. Microwave works perfectly, easy to use touchpad for all requirements, quiet, bright lighting inside and out. I am pleased that I selected G.E. Producta again. My previous GE Profile suite of products is still working perfectly after almost 20 years and I know that I will receive the same service and delivery from my new G.E. Products - only one difference...now they are stainless steel and make my kitchen look brand new, once again.

Sort of OK -- but not so much

We had another GE Microwave for 20 years. It was great! We just bought this one and the 2 major complaints I have are: 1. The KEYPAD is almost invisible. It is NOT backlit and the lettering is DARK GREY - That makes things very difficult to see to push the "event' you want. 2. The "window" to look into the microwave is so covered with netting that it's not worth having. We cannot see into the microwave to see if anything is spilling over etc.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this microwave!

We went to four stores in search of a no nonsense, easy to use, over the range microwave. We chose this one and have not been sorry. What I love about this appliance (I'm the wife), is that the door is quiet & easy to open and close. Some microwaves out there takes two hands to open. Straight forward display panel.
I would recommend this to a friend!
