Control Panel doesn’t light up!

Used your appliances for years but recently purchased a 19yr old GE microwave with a new GE only to discover control panel doesn’t light up after installation. At first thought something was wrong but then discovered only clock is lighted. Have to use a flashlight in the evening to see the buttons on panel or turn on a light. Very disappointed as my old one was always lit and very accessible. This was an important feature that should not of been left out!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only lasted 2 1/2 years, then just quit running. Some kind of failure in electronics I believe. Almost cheaper to buy another, than call for service call.

Looks really nice, large interior, all the things you want in a microwave...but it didn't last long. Control panel had a meltdown in about 10 months, I mean sparks ...face level. Under warranty they came out and tried 3 times to fix it and decided it had to be replaced. The new, exact model, came in quickly and it lasted about a year and a few months and it had another control panel meltdown. Threw sparks early one morning as I was heating a cup of coffee. Do not buy.

the touch pad wasn't working very well after 24 hours. Had repair team come to fix it they said keep using it like that. Now the touch pad doesn't work at all
