Hopefully I just got a dud the first time.

Had this microwave just over a year then started having problems. Ultimately had to replace it due to the cost of repair. Hoping I just got a dud because I've never had problems with any microwave in my life, let alone one this new. Features and function were all fine...until it stopped working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It’s a nice microwave but it keeps shutting off. In a whole year, my husband has to reset our breaker for it probably like more than 18 times already.

So far, so good

Bought this to replace a similar but much older version of a GE over-the-range microwave. It is much quieter than our older model. It seems to heat about the same as the old, which is fine by me. The lights underneath are brighter but that might because we didn't clean the old one well enough.
One thing I wish GE could have done: Kept the mounting bracket tabs the same as the old model. Really didn't want to have to remove the old bracket and mount the new one. Found a way around that but it shouldn't have taken that. Also, the holes on top for the bolts didn't match the old model even though it was essentially the same size.
Other than the mounting issues, this has been a solid purchase so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beware if replacing older unit with newer one

This installation should have been simple. We had a similar GE Microwave over the range model made in 2008. Installation would have been 10 times easier if they had left the anchor bolt wall locations and top cabinet hole locations in the same location as the 2008 model. The new model had a back plate very close to the old one but, still had to drill new holes. The top holes were within 1-1/2" from the older ones. I had to make new spacer blocks and again drill new holes. Just imagine how simple this new installation would have been if I just removed the old microwave and put in the new one using the old bracket and tipped the new old in and installed 3 screws. Why don't the Engineers ever consider this to make life easy.
