Samsung Solid state drives are the only way to go, i have in the past used other brands and there is a huge difference, do not wast your money on other brands, Samsung has them all beat.
Drive is not recognized. Tried it on 2 Macs and 1 PC. None of them even saw that it was attached so was not able to format it. That goes for Disk Manager and Samsung's own software on the PC. Software is PC only, no Mac version. The drive is also nearly $100 more than the competitors. Will be returning the useless drive and going with another brand.
Cons: Poor quality, dead on arrival, expensive, software is pc only
This drive performs great when its not dead. I have had two of the 850's die after about 6 months of use. My 840's I have had for almost 2 years and they are going strong with no issues.
Speeds as advertised. Cannot beat the dollar to performance ratio when compared to other manufacturers. Product looks durable/reliable and performance is excellent
Great product, not so straight-forward installation

Installing this product isn't as easy as the included "installation Guide" would have you believe. In fact, I had to use a 3rd Party adapter's installation instructions in order to get the drive to be recognized by Windows10 Professional.
That said, the drive performs exceptionally well, and I would say it definitely out-performs any of the spinning HDD's in my system currently.
I will definitely consider a larger Samsung SSD in the future as a replacement for my existing HDD's.
Should of done this sooner, gives you a new computer

I was uncertain about cloning my old hard drive and installing a SSD. I thought I might loe everything and be worse off. But, it worked as advertised.
How to install it: Open the SSD and follow the instructions. I have an i3 and has a bottle neck so the final performance seems to be half of what it can do. This takes my 7 minute boot up before I can open a program. After the SSD install it takes less than 30 seconds to boot up. Also, some programs before would take a minute or two , but now its a few seconds.
It took 3 or 4 hours to clone, so do it at night and wake up to a new computer. I have a 2.0usb.
