Windows 7 system hangs after coping about 80GB of a 100GB file

Windows 7 system with 32GB memory.
Trying to copy a 100GB file and system hangs after it copies 80GB of data causing me to manually power off system so I can restart it.
Otherwise seems pretty good.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This 850EVO 500GB is a fantastic SSD!

The 850EVO 500GB has the speed, is lightweight. Way better than the 7200rpm 500GB drive it replaces. And what I noticed the most is the PC after SSD replacement for the Operating System, it has a feel when using the keyboard or mouse, of being as "smooth as silk". That was unexpected and hard to describe, but I bet you'll notice, it is great!
I'd suggest if and before replacing the boot drive, Perhaps create a "Windows System Repair" disc or USB key fob, before replacing your boot drive with the SSD. Just in case, and if needed.
So, I am very happy with the machine with the new SSD, and it is working great! Thank you Samsung!!!
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, great data migration software, great samsung magician software (downloadable)

I installed this SSD in my mid 2011 21.5" iMac as a an install that calls for average skills to complete. No my mac performs like a new machine.

I have upgraded my new laptop last year and before I got it I wanted to upgrade everything in it to the max. So, I went on a search for the best ssd and biggest I could find. And this was the only one of its kind, so I got it. This was my first SSD and I was a bit apprehensive, but boy was I pleasantly surprised at how well it operates! It is fast and clean.......no noise, just work. I love it! I would recommend that, if you have the opportunity, you should try this drive! you will not be disappointed!
Pros: Lightweight, size

I have Win7 ultimate on a Asus Maximus and bought a 500gb EVO for the OS, I am running two 500gb disk drives one for games and one for programs and a 2tb disk drive for storage and backup.
The two 500gb hard drives were left over from the raid on my old comp. The boot time and speed of the EVO is very impressive so I plan on buying a EVO 250gb or EVO PRO 240 256gb for Windows and making the EVO 500 SSD the gaming drive. I must say the Samsung EVO is probably the best single investment I've made on a upgrade.....

No problem cloning

My old hard drive was starting to falter after 8 years, so after reading reviews and comparisons, I decided on the Samsung 850 EVO. So far, excellent! Once I obtained the USB 3.0 to 2.5 in adapter cable, cloning was much faster than I expected and went without a hitch, once I made sure to close ALL open applications. Installation in place of the previous SATA drive was also easy with the 2.5 to 3.5 in adapter frame that I purchased separately.

Replaced a very slow 5400 rpm mechanical drive. Made a huge difference! Included cloning and optimization software made the entire process very easy and smooth.

I did an image backup of the old drive before installing the new SSD. Using a USB connection, I initialized the SSD and then installed into the computer using an adaptor for a 3.5” drive bay. The old drive was 120 MB; the new SSD is a 250 MB drive. After installing the SSD, I used an image restore that I made previously and restored my operating system, (Windows 7) and other files that were on the other drive. I them expanded the Drive C partition to the full capacity of the SSD. Works like a champ.
