This ssd drive was really easy to install and I am no pro IT guy so definitely anyone can do this as long a you can use a screwdriver. It works great and made a huge difference in my computer's speed!!
I purchased this 1T SSD so that I would have both drives new SSD's in November, 4 months ago. Over the last month it has started simply shutting down and restarting for no reason (usually when I asked it to perform a task like opening a file). Then, all of a sudden, after loading some software I started getting the dreaded "inaccessible boot device." I used the Windows 10 fix and did not lose my data (but am having to reload all of my software [e.g., MS Office, WordPerfect, Virus program, etc.]) -- as a result I no longer trust my drive. When it works it is absolutely WONDERFUL! When I'm being told that it won't start: TERRIBLE!
The drive is great and runs fast. made a night and day difference to my desktop and also brought some reliability back to my old work horse. cloning my existing drive to the new Samsung SSD was so way easier than I ever thought it would be. all the software you need is included and doesn't take a computer master to run... Thanks Samsung!
I haven't tested single drive performance, there's performance benchmarks all over the internet for single drives. With a 5 year warranty on these high-end SATA class drives, it's great to put 2 of these in a RAID0. My reads and writes stay in the 900MB/s range(lower-end NVMe speeds). I would only recommend a Max of three of these drives in RAID0, because your on-board RAID controller will be saturated around that level, making the fourth drive add hardly nothing, but extra space and increasing the failure probability.
Pros: 5 year warranty, best speeds at the price point.
I purchased the V-NAND SSD 850EVO for my laptop. I decided to do this because I purchased my laptop brand new less than 6 months ago and the conventional hard drive failed. The laptop manufacturer replaced my failed hard drive with the same one that failed. I didn't want this to happen again so after a little research I decided to purchase the Samsung 850EVO. I am not very tech savy or mechanically inclined but I had no problem cloning my system to the new drive and removing the old HD and installing the SSD. The Samsung Magician software made it so easy. It took me around 30 minutes and everything went smoothly. Since I installed the SSD my laptop is so much faster, quieter, and doesn't get nearly as warm as it used to. I researched a lot of SSD's and this one was the best value, not to mention Samsung has a great reputation and they back it with a long warranty. Do yourself and your computer a favor and upgrade your old hard drive to a Samsung SSD. You will be so glad you did!
Pros: Durable, Inexpensive, Lightweight, fast, good warranty, very user friendly
This drive works great. I really like the Data Migration software the drive comes with it made replacing my old C: drive a breeze. The entire process only took about 30 minutes going from a 128GB SSD drive to the new 500 SSD.
This is the fourth Samsung SSD I have purchased, Performance is great with a Gigabyte GA890FXA-UD5 although I have read there may be some general ssd incompatabilities under certain situations. I do not think I have seen any after 1 week of use. Sequential read 528mb/s, Sequential write 484 mb/s, ransom reads 50407 IOPS, random writes 36279 IPOS .
Installed Magician 5.0 but did not like. I went back to Magician 4.5.
