This unit was purchased to replace a failed unit that was only in use for 3.5 years.

REPLACED 15 YR OLD GE MODEL

INSTALLATION WAS VERY EASY..WAS SUPRISED THAT THE UNIT IS NOT THE SAME AS THE PHOTO ON WEBSITE AT GE WHEN I ORDERED...UNIT HAS BEEN SHORTENED BY A HALF INCH AND THE LIGHT AND FILTER ASSEMBLY NOW STICK OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT AND ARE A DIFFERENT COLOR AND EASILY VISABLE...NOT WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A "TOP OF THE LINE" UNIT.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We were distressed that we had to buy a new microwave after only 7 years. I was sure I would not be able to find one that fit and in the same color (beige/almond) but GE had one. The features are similar to the old one with a few improvements such as the timer continues to sound instead of one simple beep.
I would recommend this to a friend!
