We bought this microwave to replace our GE that died after 12+ years of almost daily use. It's similar in size and features to our previous, was relatively easy to install and is currently performing very well. If it provides similar years of service, we'll be happy, happy, happy!

Powerful and balanced microwave distribution

Replaced a 16 year old unit of much lesser wattage. Chose GE primarily because it had dimensions closest to the replaced built in unit. Most units we considered had grown in depth and length that would interfere with canning on the range beneath. Quiet operation and quick, powerful cooking. Follow the instructions for an 1100 watt microwave printed on the item you plan to prepare. Really accurate results! I would however simplify the cooking pad and make auto reheating easier. You shouldn't have to get out the instruction manual each time time you want to use features other than simple time/power settings.

Our original GE microwave had a door handle that broke off and my son accidently put metal in it so it had destroyed some of the lining and we needed to replace it. This one, though more expensive, just doesn't cook the same. We miss the old one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
