It has its good and its bad

Tough to find a MP3 player that would impress me. With all the gadgets I have from tablets to laptops to phones. To the point. The player is solid, the sound clarity is good. The best earbuds that you have to replace that I've seen. Easy transfer of music and I love the rechargable idea.
The biggest problem is powering on and off. Very troublesome for me but it may just be me. For me to power off I have to put the songs on pause. (Strange Idea) Hold down the power button for a looong period of time. To turn on. I have to hold the power button for a looong period of time. I get a message that the device is on hold. I then hold the power button for a looong period of time(to take off hold) and the device is off hold and I can play the songs. Very annoying and takes quite longer than say turning on your monitor with the tap of a button.
Would I still buy this item. Yes. Is this a major flaw. I think so. Can I correct it maybe in the settings??
Conclusion: A nice looking fast syncing quality product made by sony with one major flaw.

8 GB Walkman
on May 3, 2014

I have owned two previous iterations of the Sony Walkman MP3 players and have loved them, but unfortunately, what made those players great have not been completely passed on to this one. The previous ones had a solid metal feel, this plastic one feels cheap. The screen looks smaller and more pixelated as well. I do like the larger capacity memory over the usual 4GB MP3 players you find in the store, but I hate that the hold button has been moved from the side to the front and configured with the on/off button and that it automatically goes to hold every time I pause my MP3 player for any length of time. I want to chose when the hold is used, not the player making that choice for me. If that were to get changed, I might sill consider getting a newer version.

Small problem with mp3 player
on May 3, 2014

Love the mp3 player. One small problem is that it seems to stall out. It will "freeeze", and no button you press on the screen will have any affect on the player. It has happened several times, it gets unresponsive to the controls and just keeps playing the song or keeps on pause, whichever function it was on when it froze up.

Best mp3 player I ever had!

Best mp3 player I ever had including my phone. Great features easy to use long battery life, great sound quality, and mine was 16. This was a couple years ago. Almost indestructible! Almost... I dropped in a puddle chasing a puppy that ran out the door and it still worked! Then on a camping trip I was out late and it started raining and I couldn't see the black mp3 player to take it in. So it laid face up in the pouring rain near Seattle overnight. It didn't work after that. I just wish I could find another one. I mean I'd pay a couple hundred to get another one of these. It's that good.

Best-in-Class Cheap MP3/MP4 Player

My mother bought this in Summer 2016, forgot about it, remembered, and gifted it to me for Christmas 2019. Greatest gift I ever got. The battery lasts forever (28 hours of non-stop playing when I tested), and generally has a better sound quality (with boxed-in earbuds, of course) than most MP3 players (Beats out my Dad's iPod Touch). So, a great gift for someone who wants a good quality, fairly inexpensive MP3 player.
I would recommend this to a friend!
