Scanning old 35mm film slides and negatives.

I bought this scanner because of its high resolution possibilities and for the purpose of scanning and digitizing 35 mm film slides and negatives, some as much as 35 years old. The results are amazing. These old images are coming back to life as if made yesterday, and printing up in full color quality (on my Epson 3880 printer) in such a way that makes m long for the days of film all over again!

Great photo and Negatives Scanner

This scanner works great in scanning all my photos as well as negatives. It does a good job on all the items Ive tried to scan. The software does a good job on working with selecting and tweaking the photos as well as the negatives. This is a complete package for me to do all my old photos or whatever else I need. I'm glad I bought it.

New Epson scanner V550

This scanner replaces an older different brand scanner and uses a newer interface and much different user software. The operation and performance is quite adequate. The instructions require a steep learning curve and reference to the PDF user files. We would like to see a more extensive printed book.

My scanner arrived very quick. I opened my scanner right away and installed the software which took less than 5 minutes. I plugged in the scanner and was scanning photos in no time at all. Works very smooth and the picture quality is superb. Very user friendly. Great product.

I recently purchased the Epson V550 Photo Scanner. I am more than pleased with the results of scanning old negatives that are 60 years old. The results were excellent. I have also scanned pictures that were showing stress from being in albums that were not acid free. The scans were very good with little to no further adjustments. The various options for home, office, and professional settings are user friendly. My task of organizing our family photos has been greatly simplified.

Going digital with my old family photos and negatives. I bought this scanner because it is capable of scanning 35mm negatives, so far Epson's scanner works like a charm, especially with the old black and white negatives. You can only scan 4 slides at a time(wish there was a larger holder I have many slides), but they convert to digital very nicely. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Better than expected!

I have an HP 4 in 1 printer, copier, scanner, fax and I have scanned in over 1,000 old pictures from the 1950's - 1990's etc and was mainly pleased with the results. But when I got my new laptop I decided to get just a scanner that was more 'portable'. Not to say this is a small scanner, but it's a little easier to move around than my HP. I borrowed some of my dads old pictures from my dad and scanned them in. At 1st I was horrified to see all the dust!! Then I found I could customize the scan options to remove dust. GREAT! The pictures were wonderful. Sooooooo sorry I did not get this 2 years ago. Now the 1,000 + other pictures I scanned before look pretty bad.

Awesome products

I've been using Epson printers and scanners for close to 15 years. I do photo restoration as well as film scanning for clients. The restoration feature of the scanners has saved me more hours of work than I can count. And, the speed of the newer scanners is another huge time saver. I never fear when buying any Epson product.
