Although the instructions were lengthy, it was not necessary to read all of them, thank goodness, but only scan a few pages and it was good to go. Very happy with the results.

Solid and Reliable

I bought this scanner primarily for slides, to digitize them and preserve them. But its versatility is impressive. It handles documents, both one-page and multi-page, slides and movie film, and the recorded image is high resolution.
I had some glitchy times with it when I first had it operating, until I removed the downloaded operating files and reloaded them, and it has been working perfectly and reliably ever since. It isn't super quick, but it does the job, and unless you have big numbers of originals to scan or you use this in an industrial application, this unit can really do the job. I'm a fan.

Wonderful scanner!

Bought this scanner for my wife, it does a great job for her.
What we really found we enjoy about it, is how easy and what a great a job it does with old photographs and slides. The amount of detail in old photos, from as early as the 30's is amazing! Photos with serious aging and loss of detail are able to be restored to near new detail and brightness.
It also does an excellent job in rendering 3 dimensional items into 2 dimensional "photos". She uses this ability to create new paper designs for her scrapbooking projects.
She loves it and I seldom need to help her with any of the features it has, because it is simple enough for her to figure them out herself. A great plus for both of us.
Our old scanner was an adventure to use, not always a good adventure either. This one is a dream and always gives great results!!

Great Epson Scanner

Love my Epson V550 Photo color scanner. All pictures regardless of condition scan beautifully. Easy to use. No guess work involved. I purchased this unit for uploading and archiving old photos, slides and film negatives, but haven't gotten that far yet. This is a really good value unit.

A Great Product

This scanner is superb in all respects. We use it so much that we actually keep it on the kitchen table, next to our computer. I can't imagine how we lived without it.
Our best buy of the year.

V550 Photo Scanner

The Scanner runs smooth and quiet. As far as longevity goes that will be a test of time. I have a 15 year old scanner from Epson that works very well. Unfortunately. like most older electronic devices they will not work on Windows 10. I was able to download the older scanner on Windows Vista.
I would recommend this to a friend!
