Epson V550 Scanner

I was looking forward to using this product to scan many old slides. I was able to scan the slides...4 at a time, but I found the process of editing and saving as a single item was very time consuming and not easy to accomplish. As a photo scanner, it is excellent and very easy to use. As a slide scanner, I'm not so sure. I do not have the time now to explore this further and therefore I'm returning the product withing the 14 day return policy time. I'm disappointed that the slide scanner did not provide a quick and easy way to convert the slides. I would need more time than I have now to work with this. I do think Epson makes good quality printers (which I also own and am pleased with).

The scanner was relatively easy to use. Would have been nice to have all functions in one menu. Does a great job of copying.

Amazing how this machine can scan and produce excellent for the price. Slides,negatives and prints all turn out very close to the original document. I am very pleased with this scanner. Would certainly recommend to others needing one.

Great Product

Easy to use and set up. Works flawlessly. I no longer have a darkroom and have a sizeable collection of negatives. My only option was to digitize the negatives so I purchased the Epson V550 photo scanner. The negatives that I scanned are sharp and the full dynamic range of tones from highlights to shadows are preserved. the options are straightforward and easy to customize to one's preferences. I have scanned 35mm, medium format negatives as well as prints. In one case, I was missing the medium format negatives and only had a contact proof sheet to work with. I scanned the contact sheet and was able to reproduce full images from the scanned proof sheet. This has been the best investment for digitizing my old negatives. I would strongly recommend this product.

Easy to Use Works better than I thought

I bought this probably about a year ago. I had no idea it would work so good. I gave it a 4 star because sometimes I have to click on the scan icon more than once..it says there is no communication. But that could be my laptop. You can easily scan 4 photos at the same time and more as long as they aren't touching. I have also used the negative scanner and the pictures come out just like they were the original photos!

i am using this to scan my dads 35mm slides from vietnam. so far it is working better than expected! my only complaint is that the instructions not really clear on scanning slides. don't forget to remove the line on the lid or all scans will be black.
