Worth every penny!

I had a 10 year old scanner that was not being cooperative with slides, so I replaced it with the Epson V550. It is very user-friendly and the quality is fantastic! Colors are vibrant, detail is crisp, and I am so pleased! I have quite a few slides to convert and also many old family photos (some tintype!) and I can't wait to get them into digital format. I would heartily recommend this scanner.

V550 Photo Color scanner

Great scanner, excellent for slides, negatives, and older 120 size B/W negatives. Prints and documents scan GREAT. With the save as a PDF option older important documents can be saved to e-mail.

Great for art!

I was looking at scanners for small colorful pieces of art. After reading many reviews online, I was apprehensive. Even well rated scanners had significant numbers of haters. Setting it up sounded like a nightmare. Fortunately, set-up was simple. (My operating system is Mac OS X 10.9.2) The initial scans of my art were awesome-very true to the original. To ensure success, be sure to select the "Software Updater" when downloading the software from the enclosed CD. After it is loaded, run it to see if there are new updates by selecting it manually after it is installed. It does not automatically check for updates when you download it to your computer. I am thrilled with the results I have gotten so far and I look forward to experimenting with all the settings!

Fast and easy set-up

I have had scanner for two days. The set-up was fast and easy. A bit of a learning curve with actual scans, but easy enough to figure out. I am a home user, was amazed by the images that showed up in old 620 negatives from my childhood.

Perfect solution!

This was a reasonably priced and easy to use solution for converting slides to photos. I installed the software very easily onto my MacBook Pro. The slides converted very quickly and the image quality was great. Made my mom very happy! Plan to scan and store some old photos next.

Excellent Product

Scanned over 4000 transparencies over a 3 week
period to archive family history. All the modes
performed as expected. Have not tried any 35mm
negatives as of yet. I need a break. Overall I am
very pleased with the results.
