Epson V550 Scanner

1st one messed up Laptop with W10 (Epson printer - perhaps confused each other-both Epson). Had to do a "restore". Scanner quit working. Took it back. Attached new one to desktop with W8 (HP printer). Works great! "film"- took a little time, but each section of the film= clear and sharp, great color. Going to enjoy this scanner. But? Will it still work if I upgrade computer to W10?
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not a good start

So you go through the set-up procedure. At Step Four you press the "Scan" button and nothing happens. It looks very much like the power cord, the step-down transformer and its output cord are not supplying electric power to the scanner. Another outlet was tried with the same results. All connections were unplugged and reset--no difference. The only things I can think of it that the transformer isn't function or there is some kind of break in the connecting lines. Not a good way to start with a new scanner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been trying to scan slides and most of them do not scan so I will be able to save then to my computer. I will try again; but a little disappointed in the product.

scans seems to take too long, have been using epson 4490 and it was much easier and faster.

I have to rest the copier quite often, It will turn photos on i\their side, and crop them wrong.
I often have to restart my Mac for it to properly recognize the copier

Off and on switch a bit out of the way. Everything works well . I bought this scanner for the larger format negative processing.
