Mildew Issues

Washer has severe mildew problems/issues. We always leave the door and detergent drawer open when not in use but mildew still builds. Today, I removed the detergent drawer to clean it and decided to wipe the inside of the drawer compartment. Wow, what a nasty mildew mess !! Severe mildew build up and really no way to clean it. I'm so disappointed in LG, what a terrible design !!
LG needs to replace my washer with another free of charge.

This is my favorite LG front load washer I’ve ever had! It washes my clothes very well even though it doesn’t have TurboWash. Plus I like the red color.

Lovin LG Washer!!!

This is my first LG washer, and I love it! The price was right. The features are plenty and wonderful. Quality so far is outstanding. I have only one picky con.....It doesn't have a tumble fresh feature. Sometimes I leave when I'm washing clothes and there is no feature to let the washer tumble the clothes to keep them fresh. That is the only thing I don't like. But it's a small thing which is why I have this washer 5 stars.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use

Performs very well

My old washer gave out, so I had to go buy a new one, immediately. I researched available products and chose this one primarily b/c it has a steam function.
Washers don't ordinarily excite me, but this is an exceptional product.
PRO's:
-It cleans the clothes well, as one hopes a clothes washer will do - although many do not.
-It uses very little water. The cost of water is not an issue for me, but "waste" is. So, two thumbs up for getting the job done #clean clothes# with far less water!
-It has a large capacity "drum", but the washer itself has the same footprint as most all others.
-It has a steam function, which I particularly like b/c it reduces the amount of bleach I feel compelled to utilize #less chemical usage is always a good thing#. and it is reasonable to assume I am achieving the same level of "cleanliness" by using the steam function w/o bleach, as I was with my old washer with bleach and no steam function.
-It is, relatively, very quiet.
-Its "alarms" are pleasant.
-It has a "water pump" filter that is easily accessed and is intended to be cleaned periodically. This, IMO, reduces the chance of malfunction.
-it has multiple functions which allows one to get the "exact" settings they desire for a given load of laundry.

CONS:
-The lettering on the "additional wash functions" is barely legible b/c it is near the same color as the background color. This may seem "nit picky", but it seems to me it is rather obvious that one would want "functions" to be legible - otherwise, why label them at all?
Comments:
It did not come with a "get started kit" with an HE detergent sample. Okay, this is a small thing, but many people replace a non-HE washer with an HE, and most likely have "non HE" detergent on hand, and not HE. Yet, most all other washers do come with detergent samples. Go figure.

As to "quality" of the machine itself, I have only had the machine for around a month or so. I don't know how one would measure "quality" in such a short time. I can say its "apparent quality" is "good", but since there is no way for me, or any else that is simply using the machine #as opposed to testing it#, to actually know what the quality of its various functions, or longevity are/is - I think rating its "quality" is kind of meaningless. For this reason, and only this reason, I gave "quality" three stars.

for clean clothes only

They work good mechanically no problems other than cleaning nothing comes out in the wash. If your clothes are dirt going in they come out the same after the wash cycle. It takes a long time also to wash and I 've tried all the setting even added the stained feature nothing works pretreating or steaming. I read the reviews and bought a set now I hate them

Mold and mildew

I wish I hadn't bought this washing machine. Smells bad. Door is kept open to allow air dry, extra wiping around gasket is not enough to avoid mildew. Not happy wit this product.

It can't do eveything...

Even using the higher spin cycle, all the water was not removed from a large, but not particularly heavy comforter, although I even ran it through the spin cycle twice. Other than that, I like the washer and its features. I knew before I bought it that more upkeep would be required compared with the old style top-loader, so I was prepared. The clothes are clean--mission accomplished!

Need to konw a few things about front loading wash

Machines are flawed in two ways & hopefully this will help you avoid my issues.
One: use powder detergent
Two: leave door open to dry out the washer
Two: leave door open to dry out the washer
If you use liquid or pods your clothes will smell stale as these machines are horrible of getting your desired traits of a washer. The powder detergent & making sure you leave the door open for water to evaporate should help in this problem. I recommend a top loading washer.
