Great with Jelly Bean; unusable with KitKat

Until the KitKat upgrade this phone was excellent: an excellent HD display, fairly good sound, speedy, powerful, and superb battery life. Since the upgrade, the phone is slower and the battery life is a third what it was, rendering the phone into an ineffective high-priced toy. LG and Verizon destroyed the phone with the upgrade. And many others are experiencing the same. Until a patch is issued and evaluated, I cannot recommend this phone.

Just got the LG G2 and it is a wonderful phone. I would recommend you take a look at the preloaded apps. One of them, slacker radio, takes up about 7 GB of your memory. That is not good when it can't be removed without voiding the warranty. This is as bad as paying for cable and all the unwanted channels you get. So great product but could be much better if not forced to keep unwanted apps.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Quality

First Smartphone....First Rate!

I'm 60+ and this is my first Smartphone. Have been using it for 5 weeks now. I thought it would be too overwhelming with too many bells and whistles that I would be nervous to use. I was mistaken. This phone is amazing. The online manual is a bit lengthy to read and understand, but the LG website has plenty of relevant videos posted to simplify explanations. And my carrier Verizon offers Android classes which I found helpful.
As to the G2, it's a dream. I researched prior to purchase, and one of my priorities was the BATTERY LIFE, and it is as advertised. At the end of 1 day, still 40-50% showing. Another priority was the CAMERA, and it delivers also. Great quality pictures and videos with lots of neat options. I just need to figure out how to send large files via email. And did I mention SPEED? I don't know a 2.26 quad-core processor from a food blender processor, but this thing is F A S T. The 5.2" screen is larger than the i-phones and that influenced my decision to get this also. Some people complained about the rear control buttons, but I found that a non-issue. The double tap to wake is cool, and I use this phone now as my daily alarm clock. No negatives to speak of.
If you're on the edge between getting this LG G2 and something else...don't hesitate to get this. It'll be a SMART decision.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, it is smart

I couldn't be happier

My smartphones are provided by the company I work for. I was very dissapointed when the company said they were no longer allowing a particular phone (non-Android OS) in its newer version.
So I had a choice of other Android phones and the LG G2. After I reveiwed the G2 specs I was sold. This is a great phone and I would recommend it highly.
What I like: Quad proessor response time! Great camera with lots of features. Overall a great phone. The only minor issue I have is that the keys on the LG virtual keyboard could be a bit bigger for my chubby fingers. Highly recommended.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

awesome phone

We have Verizon. It was time to upgrade. We had the lg revolution with extended battery. We do art shows and use the squareup app to accept credit cards. We need the extended battery because with the square you have to have GPS on all the time. Some of our shows will last 12 hours. Also on a bad weather weekend we will check the weather many times. The lg G2 was the one that meets all of our criteria. The battery is the same strength as the extended one. We did a three day show with 60% of the battery and we did use the square with no issues. It is much faster than the revolution and our signal strength is awesome. Our only issue was that when we texted, a voice spoke every letter. We finally found how to turn it off in settings, accessibility, talk back off. We like the tap feature to turn it off and on. We like that it speaks to tell you who is calling or texting. The camera is totally awesome. Still and video. The sound is awesome. Still have to get in the shade to do the square but is some what better than friend's iPhone. We are not tech savvy and had no problem learning how to use it. We have the otter box case and the volume and on off buttons are not hard to use. In fact we rarely have to use them. The size is great for viewing the square and pics.

Better than the best phone competitors

The LG G2 is the best phone I’ve ever used. I purchased one after having a very bad experience with one of the top phones on the market & I am so happy that I did. The battery life is better than I’ve seen on any phone or Wi-Fi tablet and the processor’s power and speed is simply incredible. Besides the impressive screen image quality, this phone has several nice little convenience features that make it so handy – I love the “knock” to wake up the screen & flip the phone over to put the alarm in Snooze features.
Unlike other smartphones I’ve used, this one isn’t preloaded with tons of apps that you don’t want and can’t get rid of. At first, I wasn’t impressed with the fact that the 32GB of memory is ‘on board’ and couldn’t be removed, but I never remove my memory anyway unless a SD card goes bad. I can still transfer files back & forth from my computer by the USB cable, or use my external storage for Android devices to add more memory if I ever need it. I am still getting used to having the power & volume buttons on the back, but I believe that it will feel more natural after more use.
The cell reception in the G2 is impressive also. I live in a very rural area, where cell coverage is spotty at best, but I’ve never had trouble getting a decent signal with this phone. I still have a lot to learn about what this phone is capable of doing, but it is easy to use & figure out how to use features that I am not familiar with.
