Amazing Smartphone!

Super fast processor, great display, solidly built with a fantastic camera, getting an LG G2 is a no-brainer! This phone allows you to use many voice features like talk-to-text, voice search, ie. Okay Google now etc. It has many gesture features like flip to silence and pause video when looking away, and more. There are so many customization options that I can't possibly list them all but you can change your button configuration and color, your texting themes, your home and lock screens, your menu bars, and the list goes on. The new button location is so intuitive and logical that I can't understand why no one thought of it before. It's natural to have your index finger resting there anyway so why not have the buttons there? I can't say enough good things about the G2
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Absolutely brilliant!

On the surface, the G2 is a little odd. You find yourself looking on the front and sides for buttons, but you'll find them centrally located on the back. This takes a little getting used to, but once you do, you'll wonder why every other phone isn't like the G2. Two things I have noticed about the buttons are that the volume buttons tend to stick if you hold them in, which can be annoying, and due to their close proximity to one another, it is difficult to use the screenshot function (volume down and power simultaneously). However, their location on the phone and grouping is brilliant on LG's part. Kudos!
The screen itself is quite stunning in comparison to other similarly sized premium smartphones. The colors are bright, pictures are crisp and clear and I absolutely LOVE the double tap feature. While the screen is off, tap twice and it comes on. Tap two more times and it goes off. Again, BRILLIANT! Why wasn't this thought of sooner?
The camera on the G2 is listed at 13 megapixels, which is probably more than most of us ever need, but more is better in cameras, right? The speed of the auto focus and the clip at which you can take photos is very quick, which is great when you're trying to whip out your phone for a pic. I still haven't mastered the selfie though. You're supposed to be able to use the volume down button to snap selfies, but I was trying to use that feature in Instagram and I don't think that capability transfers to non-native apps.
Now, a few random bits of information on the G2. The build doesn't feel cheap like some other smartphones. It feels solid but not brick-like, which is a nice balance for a smartphone in today's market. Also, the LED notification light....you can change it! Yup, you can change it to a variety of colors so that whenever that special someone texts you, you know it's them before you even turn on the screen! Now, if I could just convince a manufacturer to let us customize the notification tone per contact we'd be all set. Lastly, the battery life is astounding. It is officially listed as 3000 mAh, which is less than the S4, Note 3, One Max and others...but the G2 lasts longer thanks to some great kernel and power management from LG. I'm a heavy user and I can go from 7am until midnight before getting into the red. That's 17 hours of use!
Now for the negatives of the G2. There aren't that many to list here and I've been using the phone for months now. One word: memory. The G2 does have 32 GB of storage, 25 of which are available to you (the other 7 go to the operating system). That's a fair chunk of change in the memory arena, but one of the things that Android phones have often been able to hold over iPhones in the past was their expandable memory. Also, given that many end users have carried their lives on a memory card for years now, it is dumbfounding to me that manufacturers have suddenly decided to do away with micro SD slots. LG, I highly suggest incorporating a memory card slot into future devices. We'll love you for it!
One more negative that I've discovered again ties to memory. If you're like every other person that has a smartphone, you probably never ever ever ever think about deleting text messages, right? Of course not! That's a problem though because they slowly eat up storage space and when they eat up more storage than the phone has RAM, you'll run into the issue that I did. I was deleting an entire thread of texts from just ONE person and the phone froze up on me. I had to force it to power cycle and the texts were still there. It took four tries, 2 reboots and one more power cycle to get rid of them. This may be something worth looking into, LG.
So, overall, you'll not find a better phone for the money. The camera is great, screen is gorgeous, battery is amazing, feels good in your hand and incredibly easy to use for beginners and advanced users, like me. Look no further for your next phone because you just found it!

I've only had the G2 for a couple of weeks now but I am totally blown away by it! It's everything that I always thought a smartphone could be and now it's a reality. I can't say which features that I like best, there's just too many. But everything that it does it does it exceptionally well! The phone quality is awesome. This is very important to me and you don't hear it mentioned much. But it IS a phone, right? And it is a great one. I am very pleased with everything about this phone. In a few months I may review it again but I don't see anything changing except I may have a list of favorite features by then. If you're in the market for a smartphone, look no further you have found the best there is!

If you follow the directions, phone does everything beautifully. Camera is great, display is beautiful, battery life is very good. Phone is real easy to get used to, and leaves very little to question about. Just have to say, more you use it, the more you like it, and the learning becomes a joy.

WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER OWNED!!
on January 19, 2014

I have been through 2 of these phones in two months, none of which due to any damage. I have been advised it is my fault because I have downloaded third party apps which causes the phone to Freeze up, randomly restart (even during phone calls), and prevent outgoing and incoming calls. So basically the phone is for show and phone calls only. You cannot use Facebook, games, financial apps, weather apps, etc. on this phone without it malfunctioning. I have also been advised that after 2 weeks I have to settle for a refurbished phone or send it to LG and be without any phone for a week with no guarantee of a new replacement. Will NEVER own an LG phone again!!!
Pros: none!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
