Two deffective control boards on my microwave

Two deffective control boards on my microwave. I went into Homedepot yesterday, and there was another microwave, the same model as mine in a shopping cart that. Apparently it was a return. I hope my microwave keeps on working and that they didn't have a bad batch of control boards.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this microwave as a basic replacement for a six year old GE microwave with a broken turntable. So far this microwave has met my needs and aesthetically is a bit of an upgrade from my previous base model. Not too many frills with this version either but it looks nice and does what it is supposed to do.

Love the Reheat feature

We are not heavy microwave users. Most of what we do is reheating, popcorn, melting butter, etc. For that reason, I was completely won over to GE by the microwave at work, which has a Reheat button, a fabulous feature that takes the guess work out of reheating foods -- no worries about choosing a power setting or about how long to leave it in. The Reheat button almost always produces perfect results -- the food is the perfect temperature and nothing is dried out. I love it so much I insisted we install a GE microwave when we built our house, and I love it just as much there as I do at work.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Two Months - Now Malfunctioning

Loved the microwave for 2 months but unfortunately now it is malfunctioning. The safety fan that kicks in if the regular vent fan is shut off too soon initially kicked in inadvertantly. Now it has kicked in and runs continuously. Even after letting it run for several hours and even unplugging the unit over night it runs continuously. The microwave can not be operated with any other function while this fan is running so it basically is useless at this time.
I hope the problem can be fixed with one service visit. I like the microwave when it's working properly. My only other critic is that the normal exhaust fan needs an even lower setting as both "high" and "low" are pretty loud.
I do not recommend this unit only because who wants a microwave to break down within the first two months of ownership. GE needs to tweek this model's auto exhaust fan before future sales.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had to replace an older one

I loved my older microwave, but it went out. It was in my motor home. I didn't realize how improved the new microwaves were. The old one was also a convection. This isn't. I didn't want a convection. It is just a simple microwave and it's the best. so simple even an older women can figure it out!
