Very Disappointed

I was so excited to purchase a new GE Microwave and Profile double oven. I had bad experiences with both products. Within one month of purchase, I had to have the microwave replaced twice. The first microwave did not make it past installation. Right after they installed it, they found that it would not work. The store replaced it, and the second microwave only worked for about a week. It would turn on but not heat the food. I even had the electric checked in my house, but it checked out fine. The second microwave was replaced, and now I am on the third one. So far, it is working but very noisy and distracting. The double oven was a whole other nightmare. Will reserve that for a separate review. I don't have the energy to call the store again. Will not purchase GE appliances ever again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quiet Cooking

Replaced 20 year old GE microwave. This model is quieter and looks nicer. DIY installation instructions were satisfactory, but had to find longer bolts to hang under cabinet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good but noisy

After a short time, the wheels and glass get a build-up that causes the turntable to make noise as it rotates. I wouldn't be surprised if people returned it as defective. It can be cleaned, but it's a nuisance. I would probably give 3.5 stars.

I thought that I was too old to be impressed by appliances, but I like the lighter turntable and the common sense arrangement of the control buttons. I find that I keep repeating "I like this microwave" with every use.

Easy Replacement

We bought another GE after our last one finally died. It lasted about 15 years. Our hope was that it would use the same mounting hardware and the existing holes in our cabinetry as our last one. It matched up pretty well. My only complaints that the interior is smaller and the wire shelf is pretty flimsy compared to the old one. We did have a problem with me getting burned by the wire rack. The rack had gotten hot enough to melt one of the plastic corner pieces off. After that we removed the rack.
