We redid our kitchen and went with all stainless steel appliances and decided to purchase the GE brand (of course a special was on when we purchased also). Still trying to get use to where the buttons are at but otherwise we are very satisfied with the product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The keys/buttons do NOT light up so you can barely see them

Good features, except...

I like this appliance because, 1. it's very much like the one I replaced so didn't require a learning curve, 2. the brushed metal and charcoal exterior is attractive, 3. it works very well. Except, the touch panel isn't lighted, and has dark, low contrast words and numbers making it difficult to see, especially for my 93-year-old mother. I had to put stickers over the "Start" and Off/Clear" buttons so she could warm her coffee. It's not easy for me to see, either.

This is a beautiful microwave with plenty of space for all of our family needs. This appliance was packaged well with easy to install instructions. This delivers as promised. I would recommend this model to my family

Terrible panel that has no lights

Heats fine,looks fine, but what was GE thinking when it installed a cook/heat panel with no lights? I cannot see the pale buttons (and my eyesight is fine) and have to use a flashlight to see the buttons. It's not possible to see even when the kitchen lights are on. Very disappointed. A small appliance chain store in Philadelphia said, and I quote, "there all like that." Well, we know that is not true.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
