very practical machine

Don't need the mouse and keyboard because the screen is so clear and large. Actually, this computer is quite mobile and easy to move. Good to use while watching TV. Not very heavy. Great for watching movies on hbogo.I found this to be the perfect size and very fast. Much faster than my 10 inch tablet. I found the recent price drop to be very attractive so I bought two. Actually cheaper than a 10 tablet now. Simply amazing. Finally HP came up with something new. Almost as good as the original touch smart computers until they started cutting corners on those machines. I hope they don't intend to improve this one and ruin it like they did the 23 inch touch smarts. They had a really good product back then. Buy now because the price is right!

So easy to use

My kids love their android base products so for the price this was a no-brainer. Quick boot, intuitive setup, links with google online settings once you login. Not to mention half the price of a MS based equivalent. This is in the kitchen where 90+% of the use is for web browsing so we are good to go. The only problem is that it seems to hang/freeze on occasion.

I love the Slate21!

The Slate21 can be used with or without the provided mouse and keyboard. Potential buyers must keep in mind that Slate21 uses an Android operating system. Android is very different from Windows or Mac. Be sure to study the differences of the operating systems before making a decision.
I can check my email, browse the web, keep up with the social sites, keep up with news and sports, etc. There are tons of free and very low cost apps available from the online android play store.
I keep my many spreadsheets and documents on google drive (on google cloud) and music and photos on google cloud, and social sites. Google and android work great together. I can reach all my cloud stuff from my phone, tablet or any other computer when not at home.
I have used Windows desktop PCs for many years, and will continue to keep my last PC here at home until I need to replace it with a laptop. I am very happy spending more time on this Slate21, but android will have to learn to do multitasking much better before I can give up on Windows completely.

However, it is like a big phone. And I mean a really big phone. I am having a lot of trouble with apps not working and so forth. I will be returning it, only for that reason. Because it is lovely in the kitchen and I love the big screen. But I love playing games and they keep screwing up and I have to uninstall them and reinstall them. Seems a big pain.

With some advice, My 90 year old mother bought this all in one. We originally looked at the WOW computer for ease of use, but found this all in one. The large touch screen is very easy to use, settings can be adjusted for a senior or disabled person. This computer is very intuitive and easy to use. She is working on getting use to the computer, but her family is very happy with the purchase. I happily recommend the Slate.

The slate21-k100 works really well and we are please with its features. We love the dual features of using either the touch screen or keyboard and mouse input methods. The size of the monitor is real good as we both like the larger screen and the colors are brilliant and is pleasant to the eyes. Because of using our smart phones and an 8" tablet we had android experience before getting the Slate 21. It was really easy to transition to using the slate 21. We love it and enjoy using the slate 21. We have used the slate 21 for 2 weeks now.
