Some-in-one

Perhaps I was naive thinking that this product would be more than a big phone. It is not. I found that it froze up often requiring a hard re-boot (many times daily). This was my first experience with Android. I do not know if the issues were OS or hardware.
I returned the product.
On the upside, the design is great. I would love to have something like this that actually works well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For such a large screen there should be more storage, 8 MB is not enough. True you can add more storage but the 8 didn't even last me a week. I find the computer to be slow. I bought it to use on my lap setting in the recliner. It is big but doesn't have a lot of excess heat and is great to watch Netflix on. Maybe once I add more storage it will be better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is not a tablet

Was looking for a tablet and came across the slate 21. This is not a tablet. It is an Android computer. It is quite huge and heavy compared to a tablet. It functions like a tablet or android phone. It does not have an accelerometer so apps that require screen tilting will not work. All other apps work fine.
Great resolution for videos and games. I hope HP stays with this, unlike the Zeen. Updates would be greatly appreciated.
My almost 3 year old grandson monopolizes the Slate 21 when he visits. He has no problems with it. He has mastered it quite well.
The USB ports work great with external Hard Drives as well as DVD writer / player.
The Slate 21 has been a great addition to my electronic collection.
Great resolution for videos and games. I hope HP stays with this, unlike the Zeen. Updates would be greatly appreciated.
