I loved the scanner at first. However, the ADS-1500W locked up after 4 days of light use and would not function. The display became unreadable. I returned it for a refund because I question the durability of the product. Very disappointed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Handy, compact scanner

Overall a good scanner with easy setup for custom needs. Does tend to crash a bit too often. But a real improvement over the other two I had been using.

Decent 2-sided color scanner at a reasonable price

For someone who does not have an AIO printer, this is a good choice. Small footprint, does 2-sided (you can turn on or off), color or B&W, and you can easily choose the folder to scan to. I mainly use it to scan invoices and packing slips to PDF files. You have to make sure the document is squarely in the sheet feeder or you risk a misfeed.

Unit functions well in most regards when dealing with full sized documents however lacking in the area of receipts. As a former NeatDesk user I'm spoiled when trying to scan reciepts. The ADS-1500W scanner seems to like to skew the scanning. The BR reciepts program is a joke. Trying to get the templates to work when receipts vary so much is impossible and takes more work than it's worth.
I would not recommend this scanner if you're trying to scan receipts.
