Great Scanner - Poor Software

I love this little scanner! I have had no issues scanning multiple formats and document types. Quick and easy! I agree with some other reviewers about the controls are difficult to read but I was able to get used to that.
The only issue I have with this product is the included "robust" software. The included PaperPort software is version 12, licensed in 2010. The current version is version 14. I have used PaperPort for years and was never a fan. I was hoping the included "robust" software would be current and a great improvement over their previous versions. I was wrong. I'm not complaining about their product, just complaining that Brother would include such an old version. Must have gotten a great licensing deal from Nuance. Some people may find the Receipt software and Button Manager useful, but I do not.
As I said above, I love the scanner, hate the software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect Scanner

I was looking for a digital scanner to keep all my paperwork in one easy place, and the Brother DSmobile scanner is perfect, now I can send a scanned image to anyone instantly, what a great product

Purchased item and had trouble. Tech support was responsive and helpful. They spoke English and didn't waste time on stupid suggestions (turn it off and on again). The problem was resolved. I purchased the unit to scan mail without an attached computer. Works fine for single pieces but will not do multi-page without a computer. Huge bummer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

With this unit I scan in a lot of documents and receipts without being connected to anything. When I am ready I use the SD card to move the documents and receipts over to my hard drive. So this sweet device allows me to just have the scanner when I am on the go for a few days, and when I return just move it onto my computer. Another great feature is the two sided scanning.

It is the hardest thing to work, most of the time it doesn't. Multiple people have attempted to make it work and would NOT recommend to anyone

I used the scanner to copy old family photos, some of them well over 50 years old and in fragile condition. I was amazed at how well they were reproduced. It was very easy to do, too.
