Worked great for 4 years but

Purchased in December 2014 and it has died as of February 2019. The microwave turns on but doesn't actually heat the food anymore. Pretty disappointed in this as i understand most microwaves lifespans should be closer to 10 years and not 4.
Pros: ease of use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the first oven on 12/22/15. It stopped working , fortunately for me , just days before the initial warranty was to expire. Returned it to Home Depot and was provided with a replacement once proof of purchase was provided.
One improvement to this product would be to make the number pad illuminated. The black face makes the numbers hard to see.

Worked for two years then mangetron failed

The magnetron started to make a loud buzzing sound and fails to heat food. I called customer service. They said they would replace the magnetron but I would have to pay for labor. The labor costs as much as the microwave. A warranty claim should not cost me anything! LG does not stand by their products. Do not buy from LG

Have had this microwave for 11 years, and we loved it!
Unfortunately, I left a bag of microwave popcorn, in it for 3 minutes. I got distracted and yes I had smoke, and bag on fire. Now my microwave is smelly and no amount of baking soda or white vinegar can save it. I am so 😔. And must day goodbye.

You won't go wrong buying this microwave

I bought this microwave about 2 months ago. It has several good features, including variable power settings. I do not have a problem seeing the numbers on the keypad, as others have noted. Sometimes you have to search for a function on the keypad (such as the kitchen timer). Once you get used to the keypad, there is no problem. The only issue is with the length of the electrical cord. It is VERY short. The owners manual has a silly disclaimer about 'reducing risks from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord' -- when did a power cord ever drag on the ground??? It also recommends having 'a qualified electrician install an outlet near the appliance'.... That would cost about as much as the microwave itself. As also recommended, I purchased an extension cord with the same electrical rating (meaning the amps) as the microwave and so far, so good. (They don't tell you that electrical rating means amps).

VERY FRUSTRATING KEYPAD

This product has a worthless keypad. I can't believe the LG design team can put such a great product together & give it such an awful keypad. I read the reviews that said the keypad was difficult to see & I went to check on this product 'in store' & compared it to the previous model & it appeared to be an improvement over last year's model, but no, not a chance. Everything else on this microwave is good except what you must use EVERY time one uses it... the keypad. As ghetto as it sounds, I keep a flashlight next to the microwave ... all of the time. Only in the brightest of light conditions is this keypad not a nuisance. I'm all about things being user friendly, and this keypad is nowhere close to having the minimum amount of contrast between the text & it's background color that it really needs. Good design includes being user friendly. I'd love to give this microwave a two thumbs up, but can't with this extremely frustrating keypad... come on LG, please fix this issue ASAP so future customers don't have the same hassle to deal with that the rest of us are dealing with DAILY.

horrible - great except for keypad

The keypad looked OK in the store with bright lights and at eye level. In standard light and not at eye level, it is *very* difficult to read the front panel. The contrast with the background is very low. There's no back light, which would have helped. It is a major annoyance and seems like a huge design flaw. Even though I like everything else about the microwave (perfect size for me - very large inside for the outer dimensions, all the buttons I want to use, previous good experience with a similar LG microwave), I suggest you don't buy this microwave.
