This LG microwave is very nice. It is easy to operate and the display area is well lit. It has many great features like the defrosting of specific foods, and set times for everyday meals. I really recommend this product.

Got Stung

If this microwave worked as it should it would be a GREAT value for the money. We bought this unit in April 2014 and by mid May it was turning off without warning. It would trip the circuit breaker. It would require resetting the breaker and it would come back on but you would have to reset the clock.. it did this till end of June and finally went off again & wouldn't come back when reset. We followed all the reset lock directions in the owner's manual and finally took in to be looked at. They have had it for over a month now and when we checked with them last week, were told it could be another 60-90 days for the backordered part to arrive. I guess they are WALKING IT OVER FROM JAPAN!!! Unfortunately I will probably never buy another LG product.
Pros: easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This unit has more features than I'll probably ever use. I love the rounded rear instead of square corners, easier to clean and the 2.0 cu.ft. model means I can finally use my larger cooking dishes. The only gripe I have is it's impossible to read the display pad...you need to turn on every light in the kitchen or use a flashlight, even in the daytime. Lets brighten up the lettering or illuminate it please!

Poor construction. Buzz's and rattles. I had to remove the cover and tighten the components as well as putting electrical tape between many of the mating parts just to keep the noise down.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I needed a new microwave when we moved into our new house. I did a lot of research on all of the brands. I first thought about getting a microwave/convection oven but none of them had the cubic foot I was looking for and the reviews were so mixed I was afraid I was going to be one of the dissatisfied purchasers. I knew that the microwave I chose had to be the ONE. It had to last, it had to work for everything I needed it for and have a little bit of new technology too (I'm a little bit of a tech geek). I read several reviews about this microwave and decided to go take a look at it in the store. Once I looked at it in the store I knew it was the one.
While I haven't used all of the features on this microwave yet what I have used is easy and efficient. I am still waiting to purchase something that has the TrueCook code, but I do a lot of actual cooking and not that much frozen heating up type of cooking so it may be a while before I get to use that technology.
I really like the melt feature, it has proven very useful several times. The stainless look is easy to clean. Fingerprints wipe right off. I haven't had to clean the inside yet but I'm sure it will be easier than any other microwave because of the curve in the rear of the oven. It is always a pain to try to clean a microwave without things getting stuck in the angles in the back, but the curve on this one should really eliminate that issue.
At this point (2 months of ownership) I am very happy with the microwave and would have made the same choice now after having used it as I did when I purchased the microwave.

Poor Manufacturing Craftsmanship

Operationally, it is a fantastic microwave oven. However, this was the second unit that I purchased, after returning one that had a flaw in the Stainless Steel corner above the LG log on the ledge side adjacent to the glass.
I viewed another model, by LG on display that had a similar flaw. I opened my new purchase at the dealer to assure that I had a flawless unit.
I suggest that LG's Manufacturing process be reviewed to prevent metal splitting on when they stamp the Stainless Steel shell, and that Quality Control should be improved to preclude imperfect products from be being sent to dealer/customer.

Wow Nice surprise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought this microwave and wow I was not accustomed to new technology in microwave ovens.This bad boy is packed w/new cooking features that I never knew existed as my microwave that this one replaced was 28 years old and it finally gave up the ghost.I love the new features and for the price of this appliance its is well worth it..
