Better & More Powerful Than Expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased an LG microwave counter top oven after my old microwave bit the dust. The LG is rated identical to my old unit, but the cooking time is 1/3 faster. It fits on my counter top perfectly even though it is 2 cu ft - one of the largest made. Good looking and easy to operate. Much more than I expected from a microwave oven. I live alone and depend on my microwave for breakfast, lunch and dinner and even a bag of popcorn as a snack. Great value for the money.

Great microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Main kitchen microwave died after 25 yrs of use so didn't know where to even begin in replacing it. Came across this model after a few hrs of research. Reviews were good, price was right and the measurements were perfect. It has been solid for the first month. Packs a lot more power than the last one! I wish the timer would turn off without requiring a button being pushed (I set it to monitor kids' playtime - completely unrelated to microwave), but that may be a feature we could fiddle with. I can't be bothered so it clearly isn't worth taking off a star.

Good microwave, but clock does not stay on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave has a clock feature, but will only stay on for 5 minutes. If you touch any button, if will come back on for another 5 minutes. Basically, it does not have a "permanent" clock. There are many features to this microwave, it is very roomy, and there IS a light when cooking, which is why I purchased this microwave. Most on the market today do not have that feature.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use

Disappointed in key pad not lit up

It is hard to see the number/ keypad. We have to turn on annoverjead light to always see it. Miss my last microwave that was bright!

Second unit in 2 years - only buy this brand because it fits my built in frame - but had to replace 24 months after the last one

Why bother with a clock if it's off all the time?

Very happy with the features except for the energy saving device that shuts the clock off if no button has been pushed for five minutes. No way to override this--really??? We use the microwave as a clock in our kitchen. This should be an optional setting

We have had 3 of the LCRT2010 models in the last 3 years. Easy clean is great. Pad layout is great, but the reliability is nonexistent. Breakdowns guaranteed. Extended warranty is a must. Last replacement model had a feature that was a deal breaker. The clock blanks out after 5 minutes and you must touch a button to see the time. We use the clock as much as the microwave, and a continually visible display is a must have. The feature was only mentioned once in the manual, in an insert, and nowhere on the box, which is very deceptive. It cannot be deactivated. Had it been an option, that would be great, but as it is, no way. It is such a poor idea coming after the easy clean innovation, that it is hard to believe the idea came from the same company. We took it back and got a competitors product! Reliability is so bad that any LG product quality is now suspect. Extremely disappointed.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
