Good microwave with one oddity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our 2nd identical LG microwave. We love the size and features. Unfortunately our 1st unit developed a short in the door. We liked the unit enough to buy another. The odd thing about the replacement unit is the clock will not remain on. Go figure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really like the look, the black stainless is very elegant. We built ours in with the available trim-kit. The curved walls on the interior simplify cleaning. Don't understand why the display has to go to sleep, including the clock, afer 5 minutes of no use.

Touchpad Light Issue

I bought the LCRT2010 microwave oven a year and a half ago and already the light on the touchpad does not work. It is not that the clock shuts off after 5 minutes. The touchpad is blank so you don't know how much cook time is remaining, nor can you effectively use the features of the unit. I am very disappointed in LG.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy clean

I bought this microwave oven to replace one I've had for 22 years, which I repaired by replacing the turntable motor and saving for a spare. I'm not sure how long this thing will last as I can detect the faint smell of a burning resistor after each use. It's working fine though and is very easy to clean. I just wish it had a stainless steel cavity, which outlasts everything else even after repeated cleanings. I doubt this one will last as long as the "old" oven did. Also, I'm disappointed that this oven doesn't have either an "add 1 minute" or a "minus 1 minute" button. These would be helpful in adjusting cooking times. All in all, given the 23 years to improve the technology, you'd think it would be way better than the old one, but sadly, it's not much different.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
