So far so good I read a lot of reviews about the product being unreliable for circuit boards and other component failures. However my wife loved the layout inside and the rack features. So despite my efforts to get the one I wanted we purchased this one and an extended warranty. I didn't like the fact that extra adapters in a kit had to be purchased along with the GE power cord and without the cord I was told GE may not honor a warranty issue. So despite what would be safer and better to direct write the power I bought the cord and installed a new outlet in the wall. It seams to work good I hope my luck is better than those I read at other sites.

I bought this new dishwasher in Dec. I had my previous dishwasher for five years and the motor starting leaking (without me knowing about it after about four years). So there was no way that I was getting another dishwasher from that manufacturer. I had GE dishwashers before and thought I'd try again. So far, so good.
I like the look of the unit with the stainless interior and black exterior. I also like the controls on the outside. I had a height issue with previous dishwashers and had been told that I needed to buy a handicapped dishwasher, but this one just fit into the space. It is extremely quiet, often I don't even know it's running, and it plays a little tune when it is finished. I really like the silverware rack on the front of and outside of the top and bottom dish racks. This leaves more room for dishes and the machine can hold a lot of dishes. I like the options for washing/drying including autosense, which selects the cycle for you based on the load (or you can select the cycle yourself), steam, heated dry, and hot water boost or sanitizing. The dish tines on the lower rack are supposedly adjustable, however, I have not been able to figure out how to do that. The instructions are not clear and I really don't want to break the individual tines, the tine rack, or the clips holding the tine racks in place. I must admit that I only tried to figure it out one time. For most loads, the angle of the tines are fine just as they are from the manufacturer. The only issue I have had was detergent was left in the dispenser when I put large cooking utensils (e.g., whisks or spatulas) in the bottom silverware rack. They seemed to interfere with the opening of the dispenser and I felt like I had to run the cycle again. I have stopped putting large utensils in the bottom silverware holders and have not had an issue since.

Great dishwasher

I bought online and was installed 3/21/2014. It is very quiet and efficient. Problem I have is that the buttons (Start, Delay Hours, Select Cycle, Steam, Wash Temp, Heated Dry) are not labeled so I have to keep referring back to the Owner's Manual to make correct selections.

Unit leaked right from day one had to have warranty service come out. Silverware basket interferes with the soap door and now the rinse aid leaks just sitting there. Horrible dishwasher plagued with assembly and design flaws.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Easy Access Silverware Baskets (on GDF570 and DDT575 models) may be positioned on the front of either the upper or lower racks. Please try your basket on the top rack to see if this will resolve the issue you are having with the soap door and rinse agent dispenser. Be sure to secure the basket to the rack using the wire loop on the front of the upper and lower racks to engage the tabs on the rear of the basket.
