Versatility in loading and quietness in operation!

The flexibility offered by this dishwasher makes loading it so much easier: movable tines in the lower rack, a flatware basket that can be re-positioned, and an upper rack that can be raised or lowered to accommodate the demands of the load. A wonderful appliance at a reasonable price! Thank you, GE.

Bad Door Latch Design

I had nothing but trouble with my door latch. GE has used a friction latch instead of putting a lever that would slide across to affirmatively latch the door closed. It was a nightmare trying to get the door to work. I had to have three machines delivered before one finally worked right. I'll never buy another GE product.

Very Quiet

I replaced my dishwasher when I remodeled my kitchen with the new GE Slate appliances. I really liked my old dishwasher, but it was starting to get pretty loud so I decided to replace it.
I've been using the new GE dishwasher for over a month now. Positives: It looks great. I like the hidden controls. The top rack is height-adjustable. It is very quiet (I only hear gurgling in the sink/drain when the water drains.) It has a handle on the door that I can hang a dish towel from. Most importantly, it cleans the dishes well.
Negatives: The only real negative I have is I don't like the the racks, especially the top one. Dishes don't fit well (i.e. glasses slide around, and if I put small bowls on the top, the way they fit wastes a half row on each side, limiting the amount of other dishes you can put in there.) I don't think I can fit as many dishes in as with my old dishwasher.

The door will not stay closed

I usually do not write reviews but I feel it is important to do this one. I bought 3 GE product together (dishwasher, stove and OTS microwave). I have had problems with the dishwasher since I got it. I called in 2 service guys to fix it and now I have a 3rd call in to get the same problem repaired. The door will not stay closed. I have to hold the door while it is working so it will make it through the entire cycle. Sometimes it will work for 5 mins then with no one around the door will pop open and the cycle will stop. When I had them in it worked for about 15 mins then it would go back to the same problem. They replaced the rubber seal -- that wasn't it, they bent the metal piece the rubber seal goes on -- that wasn't it. I keep telling them that the door does not look like it is straight well we will have to see what the 3rd guy tells me in a couple of days.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This dishwasher was installed on May 2, 2014 and did not work from the start.
I could not close the door which activates the start cycle. We have had 3 service calls in 2 months. The cycles ridiculously long and are much longer than indicated on the screen. It is very quiet which is a plus. Given the long cycle, I seriously doubt that it is an energy saver. The machine can run for over 3 hours!!

I bought this unit, after using 2 times, it died. Finally received new unit yesterday, not sure how long it will last.
