Could be more user friendly.

The product has all the right features and is extremely quiet. But some things could be more user friendly. The silverware holder can only fit on the sides of the lower rack which means you need to pull the entire bottom rack out to put silverware away where many other models allow the silverware rack to be up front or to hang from the door.
It is not as easy as it used to be when you want to quickly change or modify washing options. Instead of having things in front and being able to simply see and hit the buttons you want, now you need to open up the dishwasher to see what options you chose.
Also when unpacking the unit the feet are used to hold the packing board to the product. While this sounds clever it makes moving and installing the unit more cumbersome. Some units have rear wheels making the unit easy to move and allowing you to avoid any scratches to your floor. But with the GE design you probably want an extra pair of hands for installing the unit as it can require sliding the whole unit out to adjust the rear feet if you need to make adjustments to its height or tilt.
Also be careful about putting plastic cups on the individual jets on the top rack. Use these only for glassware. If you run a hot cycle the water coming out maybe hot enough to leave marks on your cups as was the case for me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

very quiet BUT doesn't dry dishes

dishes come out wet even when using power dry and jet dry agent- and it smells after one day because the machine itself is wet inside. manual suggests opening the door at end of cycle and air dry dishes. that works but REALLY!!!!

Disappointed

Love the slate look! However, it does not do a good job cleaning. I have to have the dishes nearly spotless before I put them in. Even then I have to use the "Heavy" wash setting to get them clean enough. The door does not operate properly. I have to close it hard and hold it in order for it to start.

Doesn't get the job done

I purchased this diswasher about 2 months ago and have been very disappointed with my purchase. There have been several instances when dishes have come out dirty and tupperware often has a greasy film. I rinse dishes pretty clean before loading so I can't imagine what they would look like if I didn't. I am also very disappointed with the drying function - dishes remain dripping wet. Overall, wish I had my "old" model.

Door will not stay closed on this dishwasher.

I bought this dishwasher 4 months ago and have had nothing but problems with the door not latching closed. The third service technician just left after replacing the inner shell of the door. Frankly, I don't have much confidence it's fixed.

this unit was installed by a certified installer. the unit did not work. After 4 normal wash cycles my dishes were covered with caked on grit. The unit is supposed to have a grinder. grinder does not work. the unit is supposed to have a drain. unit does not drain. the unit is supposed to be energy star. if i have to wash the dishes after 4 normal cycles, that is NOT energy efficient.

Nice looking, Incredibly quiet but dishes dont dry

We purchased new GE Slate appliances for our kitchen and are happy with everything except the dishwasher. We upgraded to the higher end GE Profile dishwasher, so we expected to be impressed for a model that cost an extra $400. It looks great inside and out and washes well, but our dishes are still very wet after the cycle is complete. We raised our water temp, tried the boost and sanitize settings as recommmended, but no luck. Towel drying is required no matter what.
Is this something that would be grounds for replacement or is this a common complaint with this model?
*It would be nice if you could just select "power dry" to add additional drying time.

Dishwasher didn't last more than a month before it started leaking and eventually broke own. Repair guy said the part they need I on national back order because so many people are having problems. Top controls fog up every time it runs. I won't buy a GE dishwasher again.
