Quiet and Works

This is our first GE appliance. We recently bought the dishwasher to replace a bad one from another top name brand of which we tried two different models. We are so happy with this one. It is so quiet and actually gets the dishes clean. I also like the way each rack is designed with proper space to hold plenty of dishes. We love the slate look as well. Looking forward to replacing our other appliances soon.

Defective out of the box

This dishwasher was just installed and during its first use it's leaking. The leak appears to be from the tub seam. Not an installation related leak. Not impressed when a dishwasher leaks right out of the box!!

Quiet but poor quality

This is a very quiet dishwasher and has beautiful finishes but quality is suspect. After only about two months, the door will not latch and needs repair. The top rack is also a little sketchy and not as rigid as I would expect for such a pricey unit.

Quiet Dishwasher that does not wash dishes well

When we purchased our new home, the builder included GE Profile appliances as part of their delivery, which included this dishwasher. In the month and a half that I have used this product, this dishwasher does not do what it is intended to do, and that is clean dishes well. It's insanely quiet, which is great because the kitchen is right next to the family room.
That said, we have documented several instances where food debris is still caked onto our dishes after the cycle completes. We don't wash the dishes prior to putting them in the dishwasher, and we've consistently seen food still stuck to our dishes. Our dishwasher is filled with rinse aid, and we use a top leading dish washing detergent.
In a latest instance, we put the dishwasher on a Heavy Cycle, with a pre-soak, and a Power Dry, and we had two dishes on the bottom rack still soiled after the nearly four hour cycle completed. We've tried nearly every cycle available, also tried a boost setting as well, and none of them are doing the trick. Compared to my previous dishwasher that was with a competitor, my experience after frequently using this GE Profile dishwasher has been less than favorable.

Love our new dishwasher!

We replaced a 20 year old GE "Potscrubber" dishwasher that was so noisy...we'd only run it at night. This unit is so quiet, we had to lean in when we first ran it to even know it is working. We love the slate finish and enjoy all of the cycle features in the unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor choice

We had this installed in a newly constructed house and it has been nothing but a problem. The door doesn't shut correctly or latch right. There was a leak in one of the hoses that put water all over the floor. The sensor keeps reading that we need to add rinse agent despite it being full. It gets one star because it is pretty and the delay feature is great. I called the service folks and they come out and fix whatever is wrong but i have spent more time washing dishes by hand then using the machine especially when the service company sometimes takes a week to arrive.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
