Microwave runs when door is opened!

This microwave was perfect for us but it now starts whenever the door is opened. Lights, turntable rotating. Also gets really hot, especially on front right top of case. Both are serious safety issues for us. Will be replacing it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dumb thing stopped working

It stopped working but we figured out if we pushed it on the door it would operate, sometimes. Today, it started running with the door open. very dangerous

Our microwaves are designed with cavities that have a coating which uses a coating that is selected to be safely used as a food-contact surface and meets our and applicable government requirements for such use. In the event that you have a hole, chipping, flaking or paint is peeling off, the damage is non-repairable and you should discontinue use of the product. Workhorse

Bought in 2016 or 17. Has been a workhorse until a large crack recently appeared in the back wall. Wish it had lasted longer, but it was great for 5 plus years.

The microwave just stopped working today.

I liked the microwave until about 2 weeks ago, it started no microwaving. we put the food in it as usual and press the time we want on the warming of the food and the timer would move but the microwave wasn't doing anything. I found out if I push on the top part of the door and hold it then it worked. Or if I lifted the bottom of the door up with my fingers then it would work, but I would have to stand there until the timer stopped. I bought a bottle of cough syrup and my husband decided to use the little clear cough syrup cup and put it under the tip of the door and this made it work until today. I read a lot of the comments and most of them were about this microwave door troubles. Why didn't GE contact the customers who bought it and let us all know that it had a defect and offer all of us a new one with no defects? I am very disappointed in GE. I had a repair technician out 4 times on repairs on my new GE refrigerator also. What is GE going to do about all its appliances falling apart so quickly?
