What's not so great: Broke after 2 months!!
I had bought my 46 inch TV in February and I had it for two months and I got a light yellow colored line, about two inches wide, going down the left side of my tv. It turned blue after a while, an OBVIOUS DARK BLUE, and then I got a grey discolored line on the right side of my tv. I took it down and called the Customer service. They sent out a tech a few days later, and the tech said it'd be replaced. It took the Encorp or whoever that is replacing my TV THREE WEEKS to call me and ask me if I had a BOX to send the TV back to them in. I said I didn't, so she said she was sending out one, and I'd recieve it within 5-7 business days, and once UPS or Fedex or whoever reported that they've recieved the old TV that my new one would be sent out.. That took two weeks as well. I finally recieved the box and sent it back. And am now waiting on the replacement TV to be sent. I hope it comes soon, cause I'm never ever going to buy an RCA again!!!

I returned right after I bought it. The pixels and resultion were broke. I had a green stripe and distorted picture when using HD or PS3. But I have to say it was open box. None the less, it broke

This TV had to be one of the worst purchases I have ever made. After two months, like everyone else here, the large vertical, multi-colored line began to appear on the left side. Then three lines throughout the screen and a day later most of the screen was lines and blurring in and out. Couldn't watch it at all. Took me a month to get a repair man here only to look at and tell me :someone" would be calling me. That never happened so I spent several hours on the phone trying to find the correct manufacturer phone number. Don't know why I bothered. They were no help. Lied to me and told me they were sending a box to send them the defect TV and they would send me a new one. That never happened either. The two times they answer their phone they lie to me and the several dozen other calls I made were never answered. Finally called Best Buy again and they worked a solution out with me. I haven't gone to pick up a new TV yet but hope this mess is over with.

Bought this TV. About 80 days after I bought there was bar/vertical stripe on the left side . Video wasn't that great to start out with. Unfortunally I didnt purchase the geek squad warrenty with bestbuy (dumb me) and thank goodness it had a 1 year manufracturer warrenty. But its ridiculous to deal with the manufacturer. After like 2 months dealing with them, I got tired and bought a new one from best buy and took the other one back and got a refund. And now the brand new out the box not even a month theres a line that wants to pop thru. I WIll NOT and emphisise NOT be buying any more RCA products. A TV should not break after 3 months. That's why they sell it cheaper. Hope this helps your choice.

it was a nice tv till these bright colored lines showed up on the right
side. packed it up took it back. best buy replaced it. I take the new one
home get it set up turn it on and the whole screen is shattered. Packed that one up went back got another. The new one was fine for
2 months then the same thing as the first happened. It is now outside in a box waiting for ups. RCA is replacing with a different model.
If your thinking of buying this tv ,spend $100 more and get the 120hz.
Best Buy should stop selling this model but i see they havent at this point. Best Buy replaced it twice and now RCA is replacing the 3rd.
so i wont say anything bad about either.

The TV has started showing thick, vertical lines on the screen within 4 months. RCA sent a tech to diagnose it, and it requires replacement. He mentioned that there had been a lot of complaints on this model. RCA built them with defective parts. Tech said I'd get a call from RCA, but it's been a week with no call yet.

What's great about it: Picture quality
This TV offers an exceptional image at a very reasonable price. Image color of the TV is what attracted me the most, offering a warm true to life color, comapred to other TV's which are plagued by an unnatural blue hue.

I purchased this TV and after watching for about an hour, the screen went black. We turned it off and back on and it was fine after that. This continued to happen for a while and I called for support. A&E handles support for these TVs so they ordered a part and sent someone out. Upon arrival, the technician said he would replace the part but "that is never the correct part when the backlight is going out." He ordered a new power board before even testing it and said we could try it out but he wasn't confident that the problem would be fixed.
He came out again to replace the power board and we expected to have a working TV, nope. I called and they declared that the LCD panel was bad and the TV would need to be replaced. I was OK with this because service had been fine up to this point. Well, this is where RCA/OnCorp takes over and things go down hill.
I called the number to schedule a replacement with RCA and was met with the greeting "The mailbox is full, please leave a callback number." I assumed that the number I called didn't have a voicemail box and it was just a setup error on the phone service. I was then asked to press 1 to schedule a callback. A bit of a pain, but I can wait for a callback. I press 1, it confirms my number and responds "The database is full, try again later."
I started to get upset at this point. I looked up the number I was asked to call and it turns out this has been happening for quite a while, same messages, nobody can ever get a response from RCA. Sometimes TVs are replaced in a reasonable amount of time, others it takes months. I decided I would not even bother and took the TV back to the store. RCA support is horrible and I refuse to buy another product from them. Whoever owns that brand now has soiled the name.
Do not expect any support directly from the manufacturer. Oh, one last note, impossible to get the remote codes for universal remotes.

Same as every other review here. After two months of use, 2" wide multicolored vertical lines appeared on both the left and right sides of the screen. Called RCA. They said to call On Corp US, Inc. who made the TV. They sent a tech out who said that the TV panel is bad and that On Corp would send a new one within 14 business days. That time as long since passed. I've called them every day for weeks. Most times it says, "Mail box is full. Good bye!" and hangs up on you. I have been able to leave 5 messages for "Courtney" at extension 114, but have never received a return phone call.
DO NOT buy this product. Everybody has the same experience, and apparently, On Corp doesn't stand by their product. RCA's name is on it, but they take no responsibility for it either.
This product has... no quality, no service, you're stuck with it

Like a lot of other people are posting this model of TV has a serious flaw, Mine worked for a few months then started to grow 3 rainbow stripes on the left side. They picked up my striped tv after a month of waiting and then shipped me a completely broken one with a crack in it! When you call the ON corporation they will, hang up on you, direct you to a voice box that's full, or play a automated response that tells you to call another number. When you call that number they tell you there's nothing they can to and to just leave a message... Trust me stay away from this lemon.

the screen broke after 2 weeks. it took over a month for a service person to come out and tell me yep the screen is broke, i guess you will have to get a new one. she was gonna have somebody call me to replace it. well its been 2 weeks and no call. i call the number and never get an answer or am able to leave a message because its full. i will never buy any rca product or anything else from best buy. best buy dont care about the customer either i called them first and they said they cant do anything. well they are the store i bought it from so i trusted them and they dont care.

Loyal Best Buy customer....purchased this tv online as a Christmas gift for someone in Texas....tv was delivered, setup and all was good...3 mths later as noted in many other reviews here came the lines and strips on the screen....Contacted Best Buy was told to contact RCA....WHAT A JOKE. The service line knew immediately of the problem, took TWO weeks for a tech to come look at it....was aware of the issue and informed my gift recepient that there were no panels available thru RCA/ON Corp and that they would send their findings to RCA and they would be in contact regarding a new tv...meanwhile the tv is literally un-useable....so I have a single dad of two girls with no tv....of a tv I paid almost $600 for. They inform him that they will replace BUT he needs to ship it back to them...and they would forward a box that HE would need to packup and send...well, another two weeks and still no shipping box....meanwhile they will not send replacement until they have been notified of pickup. Best Buy has washed their hands of this issue and were in fact quite rude...RCA also now the ON Corp will not answer the phone - voice mail boxes are inoperable and the system hangs up on you. Congrats Best Buy you have lost a very loyal customer.

PURCHASED 2/10/12 AT A BESTBUY. OK TV FOR THE MONEY, BUT LEAVED ALITTLE TO BE DESIRED IN SOUND QUALITY. AFTER ABOUT TWO MONTHS NOTICED A BLACK STRIPE ABOUT 3 INCHES WIDE ON RIGHT SIDE OF SCREEN. AS THE DAYS WENT ON IT STARTED TO HAVE GREEN , YELLOW. AND RED SQIGGLIES RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE SCREEN PERIODICLY. THE LONGER THE TV WAS ON THE WORSE IT GOT. SINCE I HAVE HAD IT MORE THAN 3 MONTHS NOW I KNOW I CANT RETURN IT TO BEST BUY AS A DEFECT DUE TO THERE RETURN POLICY ON ITEMS. RCA WONT HELP ME, I KNOW THIS SO I GUESSS I LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON , I HAVE TO JUST EAT IT. I WILL PROBABLY CUT IT UP INTO PIECES AND SEND IT TO RCA!!!!!!

I bought this TV for $499.99 in February 2012 at my local Best Buy. Great price for an 46" LCD HD TV! Unfortunately, I had to call the Geek Squad just over two months later because this hideous vertical line streamed across the right side of the screen... then it started spreading! Geek Squad came out and was great... but they can't fix it. The Geek Squad guy actually said this TV is horrible for this problem and the manufacturer doesn't have the panel to replace it under warranty. He also said Best Buy is not supposed to be selling these anymore. Very fortunately, they will be letting me get a new TV (althought I'm not sure if I get to choose a new model/brand). Very disappointed!

Nice price for this set but unfortunately after only three months I started noticing vertical lines on the screen. I verified that it was the tv screen and not the cable box or signal by watching a dvd. The lines are still there. So now I am waiting for for the tech to make repairs and hopefully get some satisfaction after repairs are made. At least this happened early enough for the warranty to cover the fix whatever that might be.

I bought this tv in march 2011. Two days ago (4/28/12) I turned my tv on and after a couple secs the screen went black. The sound works fine though but no picture at all. Turned it off and on a couple times, nothing. I called RCA which transferred me to somewhere else, whoever owns rca. They couldnt help me much because Im past my warranty. They said they could send someone out to check it out but it would cost $90- &150 just to tell me what is wrong with it, and IF they could even fix it. I cant believe that this tv only lasted a little over a year. SO NOT WORTH buying RCA ever again.

This TV was the right price and size. It has all the features I wanted and very simple menu options - almost too simple.
After 2 months, vertical bars about 2 inches across appeared on both sides of the screen. 2 bars on the left and one bar on the right. The center section was unaffected. The bars were see-through but made the picture look like looking through a thermal camera... very difficult to watch TV at this point.
RCA customer service definitely leaves something to be desired. They are actually owned by ON Corporation and I couldn't figure out how to actually talk to someone other than their service department. Service was scheduled, a few days later a guy came out and said he can't fix it and that the LCD panel was beyond repair. So RCA called me back about a week after that just to tell me that it would be another 3 weeks until I could get a replacement TV. They made no effort to have a local business replace the TV - they sent me one from their stock which they said was depleted and that is why I had to wait so long.
Just got the TV from FedEx yesterday and everything looks good so far... hopefully this one lasts. Won't buy RCA ever again.
