I hate the day i purchased this phone. Dont not waste your time. There is not a day goes by that I do not have to restart it by removing the battery to speed up the apps. I will have 4G with all the service bars and the error message accessing facebook will say "no connection" ITS AWFUL!
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, awful!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this phone. It's small enough to put in my pocket, its fast, its big enough for man hands to operate. It is so much nicer than any other cell phone that I have owned. I've had this same cell number since somewhere around 1990.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, its not a miniature

Excellent phone

When I wanted to upgrade from my Captivate, I was down to either the S3 or the Note. I chose the Note mainly because I use the Kindle app often and wanted the larger screen for reading.
I am absolutely happy with the Note with one minor exception. The Captivate was a beautifully-built phone, with the compact size--positively sleek compared to every other device available at the time--at the top of the list. The large form factor aside, the Note is just as sleek, and construction is top-notch EXCEPT for the back battery-access panel; this is flimsy and cheap, and I'm afraid I'm going to break it every time I have to access the phone's innards. I also miss the back panel's matte pattern finish, but that's very minor.
That is the only reason I've rated this four stars instead of five--and it's really four-and-a-half.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, thin

Love the screen size

Can read screen even without my reading glasses. Camera is awesome and same with the video option.
Pros: Lightweight, screen size
Cons: limited options in some menus, screen hard to read in daylight, having trouble updating software

I bought this mainly for the large screen for my eyes and the bigger keyboard for my fat thumbs. This device would be perfect with some software fixins'.. And, that's saying something because I pick things apart.
The screen on my other phone is so sensitive, my hair 'presses' keys! Way too sensitive. Actually, I think breathing on it messed it up! This Note is MUCH better. It could use an alignment tool, though, in the software, for the pen and keyboard. If it's there, I can't find it.
I LOVE the high sensitivity camera! The low-light mode is great! I've used it on the telescope! I can't seem to make the focus work in movie mode, even after the update to ICS. ICS gave me the ability to pinch-zoom on the screen, in movie, live! Great! And ICS has the text templates. I miss the ability to move about text with arrow keys. It's tough putting the cursor in the right place on a line without arrows.
The battery lasts a long time, even when browsing.. The mic is sensitive and clear, the speaker and earpiece are loud and clear, screen quite easy to see in bright light, and my eyes are not that great, so this phone is for me!
