Incorrectly detects thermal carafe=cold coffee

We just received the coffee maker and it worked correctly for a couple of days. After that the unit automatically detected a thermal carafe so it doesn't keep the coffee warm after brewing. We've cleaned the thermal plate (new so it wasn't really dirty), and ran the glass carafe through the dishwasher but still have the same problem
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mr Coffee Quit . . . only lasted 2 1/2 years

I bought this Mr Coffee machine at Best Buy for Fifty Dollars two and 1/2 years ago. I have to admit, I loved it's design and appearance. I used it every day, but yesterday it just quit. Didn't come on and didn't make me any coffee. Now I think it's just a poorly constructed, not durable addition to our Landfills. It seems to me, Sunbeam has created a non-serviceable, environmentally unsound device. That's the problem with this kind of product.

Decanter leaked from day one

Straight from the box the decanter leaked around the base of the black top and the glass body, and only gets worse. No amount of adjustment to tempature, poor speed, or angle has helped. I have to pour over my sink to avoid making a mess. It was a gift so I can't return it or use the warranty as I have no recipt. Makes great coffee, love it besides this huge annoyance.

Beautiful look but will not work within 6 months

I enjoy the look and features of this coffee pot but it has consistently stopped working within 6 months of purchase. The lights all come on but it stops brewing. I've lost count but I'm on at least the 3rd one. Jarden has done a good job of replacing them but the last one was replaced with different model which was not visually pleasing so I purchased a new one. The new one stopped working this past Saturday. I follow the recommended cleaning instructions and use distilled water to brew coffee.

Coffee pot leaks

I got this as a present at Christmas and have had continual problems with the pot leaking around the black flange at the top of the pot. I have tried pouring it slow and all at once but nothing helps. I always end up with a puddle of coffee or water on the counter and water down the side of the coffee maker. The option to hold the flow of coffee if you want a cup before it finishes brewing never seems to work. The coffee just keeps coming and gets all over the heating element. I had better luck with the $9.99 off brand. This was an expensive present and I would not buy it again. Mr. Coffee is suppose to be a great brand. I am rethinking it.

Worked well for a while

Initially this product worked well, but over time it developed issues. Every time I use this coffee maker now, it loses about have of the water I put in, apparently as steam. Steam billows out the top, and by the time the coffee is finished brewing, the window in my breakfast / coffee nook is completely steamed over, as are the glasses above the coffee maker (even my cat has noticed this...he enjoys watching the birds out this window, and he gives me a look when he can't see out it in the morning). I tried adjusting the temperature setting, but this has no effect.
It also leaks with some frequency, not just from the reservoir, but from the percolator, which doesn't always drip right in. This causes the burner to get dirty very quickly, and I'm sure isn't great for it. I've cleaned it and cleaned it and cleaned it some more, but it doesn't make a real difference. 2 stars because it used to work well, still has some nice features like timed brew, and even though I can only get half a pot of coffee out of a full pot of water, it does still work (I probably need to cut back on coffee consumption anyway, so maybe this is a desirable feature).

I have had it for a few weeks now and really like it. It came with a water filter which really makes the coffee tastier.
