It's an amazing product with one personal flaw

I love it! It's LOUD and the visuals are just amazing. ONLY reason no 5 stars is because I want the app on the Play Store. No Android really? Whole reason I went with this is because I hate the Beats and all Apple stuff so I thought JBL was different because my Samsung laptop has JBL speakers. Come on be cool with Android please. Otherwise, it's an awesome product!

Thanks for the feedback. We have some good news for you and all of the Android fans out there. The JBL Pulse Android App will be available by the end of December.

I bought this speaker a few days ago. Its sound is amazing and so are the light effects.
Just like the other person here, I tought it was a shame it only has an app for apple products. But now I just found out here, there will be an android app! What can I say? That's amazing service from JBL. I love it :) Thank for listening to us android users, we'll keep listening to our music with JBL!

Visual colors aren't customizable.

I received this as a Christmas gift. iPad set-up was quick and easy. The speaker is loud enough to be heard throughout the house. The sound quality is good for its size: I wasn't amazed by it, but it's definitely a nice little package. The quick start guide is very Ikea: it's image based and doesn't answer many questions, which is a shame as it's the Pulse's only manual.
The disappointing aspect of the speaker is its colors. The visuals could be nice, but the colors are generic. You can only choose a solid block of color or a pre-programmed color set. We spent an hour trying to put Christmas colors on it, to no avail. We could make the Pulse green or red, not both at once. (Pre-programmed color sets included yellow and green or red and blue.) Forget putting favorite color combinations on it, or sports team colors on it, until they give users the option. That oversight lessens the visual quality of the speaker, and I would wait to purchase until they add the functionality.

A speaker that is actually fun!

Used for 1 week so haven't had experience with battary life. However, it is cool speaker that can be even better in the creative area by leveraging the LED's. Here is some suggestion:
(1) Expand JBL app to include beyond patterns, such as time, date, emotional icon (happy, wild, etc.), and messages
(2) Open up the API for the user community to create apps to expand the basic profile provided by JBL
I was looking for a way to expand the use of the JBL pulse speaker but unable to do that. I can imagine myself writing an app that can utilize the LEDs that can later be incorporated back into the JBL app. JBL, can you help?

Doesn't play in stereo.

I'm not as happy with the Pulse as I thought I would be. I connect from my iPhone 5C and the Pulse only seems to be playing one sound channel, rather than playing in stereo. Thinking the problem might be with my iPhone, I connected an mp3 player directly to the Pulse, and the sound is the same. I hear one channel loud and clear, but the other channel is very faint. I'd give the Pulse 5 stars if I was hearing stereo rather than almost mono.

Just over a year and it stopped working... turns off and on constantly... no fix online or by contacting JBL... out of warranty. really disappointed for paying 175.00 bucks for.

Lights up our porch with fun

I bought this for my husband for Christmas, and could not wait. And so glad I didn't, WOW, it just lights up our back porch with music , flashing lights and all we add is the fun. The carrying case was well worth the extra investment, to protect and keep secure our new party animal.

I don't get it.

I'm hooking it up OSX for the 1st time, noticed 2 issues. What's up with the loud alerts...how about NO alerts? Annoying. Also it looses connection to OSX after a minute. Most tracks a longer than a minute.
