Overblown.

Samsung should have merged the following apps into one: S-Note, Action Memo, Scrapbook. Would be great to have more cross platform compatibility of S-note. And also S-pen functionality could be somewhat more than it is now. A lot of bloat-ware built into the phone too.
Samsung could let owners of its phones to download more ringtones for FREE from its website.
Way too many features, but they are not well thought of and are just raw.
Cons: Did not meet expectations

Never thought I would buy a Note!!!

I always thought the Note was too large... after the Note2, I seen how thin it was, I wanted to get one. Sadly, I couldn't get one at the time because of finances and renewal contracts etc. Finally after my latest unnamed Sony phone bit the dust out of nowhere... I got the Note 3. Completely changed my perception of the phone. I am used to having to root my phone and fix a lot of the issues via OS changes nad etc. I am very pleased with this OS, its smooth and not as clunky as my Captivate nor the other S2/S3.
Glad I didn't settle with a S3 or S4... is all I have to say. I am a heavy computer user and I am always working. The Note 3 is the perfect balance between work, play and more work.
My favorite feature has to be the quick side menu and dual screen. Just wish I could add and remove programs from it.
The only issue I have is the bloatware that comes with the AT&T edition... I think the apps that come on the phone AT&T and Samsung should be uninstallable... not just hid-able... some are just not necessary... AND slows the phone down and kills the battery. Let users decide what they want. OR give the option in the beginning during setup.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: bloatware

Gold Standard of Smartphones
on February 28, 2014

Whether you are a techie, early adopter, power user, or just want the best of the best for any reason, this phone has no peer, no equal and is the gold standard for the genre. I started my own journey with the Samsung Galaxy Epic (w/QWERTY) and have been satisfied with my choice of brand. There was no way to pry the Epic from my hands, until the Note 3. I won't waste time quoting specs, you can read them elsewhere on this site. Just know that it does everything and then some. Top notch components and software allow for customization and personalization to the highest degree. You can throw anything at it and the phone is literally only limited by the user. I have not found one thing to dislike and I spend loads of time each week learning more about how to use the phone to its utmost. Some complain about the size, but I have not found that to be an issue. I was personally looking for a larger screen and phone and it takes only hours to become accustomed to the size. And for those with smaller hands, there is an option to shrink the screen and make it easier to handle. I cannot imagine what can be done to improve upon this device. I am proud to own one and time after time it just outshines the competition and with room to spare. I am a power user and do everything from multi-tasking and working, to games, entertainment, and straight communication, after all it is a phone as well. Well done, Samsung.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: none

Poor call quality cripples this otherwise excellent phone

When I received this phone I was initially very pleased. The display is gorgeous (full HD). The phone is incredibly fast when multitasking or playing demanding HD games. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB memory internal (25GB usable). It has an expansion slot that will take a 64GB card. The S pen feature is great to take notes while on a call. Sounds great right?
It would be the best phone I ever had, except for the fact that the call quality is very poor. I know many people do a limited amount of voice calling on their phones so this may not be much of an issue for some. I use the phone for business so this problem makes the phone unusable for me. During calls you will hear popping noises, modulation, and sound distortion. I can't keep asking my clients to repeat everything they say. I replaced my original phone but the second phone has the same problem.
I would rate this phone excellent if this problem could be resolved. But for now the phone is not usable.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: terrible call quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing Phone with 1 Catch...

#1 - I LOVE this phone, it is the best, fastest and most capable phone I have ever owned (switched from an iPhone). I am thoroughly impressed with the processing power, expandable memory and crystal clear HD screen. The S-pen is absolutely awesome, and the handwriting recognition is excellent (and I have terrible penmanship).
The only reason this phone received a 4 star rating is for the massive amount of bloatware that came with Samsung and AT&T. I was super excited to utilize the 3GB of RAM with MY OWN apps, however, every time I open the task manager it shows 1.8GB being used, when NOTHING is running. When I force close all active apps to clear the RAM 35-45 apps are closed... A little disappointed with this, but it has not been a problem yet.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Lightweight, fast, s-pen
Cons: bloatware

Changed the game

It changes the game. Extremely lightweight. The screen offers a ridiculously clear picture. It's like carrying a little Samsung HD TV in your pocket. I travel a lot and it has been the best companion for trips and works well in the office. Anyone looking for the phone that can truly do it all should look towards the Note 3.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight

Horrible voice call quality
on October 15, 2013

On all voice calls I hear loud Chirps, digitized distortions, and garbled sentences. I have to ask the person I'm talking with to repeat what they are saying several times until I get to hear the complete sentence without words dropping, loud Chirps or dropped segments or high pitched squeals that have sometimes hurt my ear while holding it against the earpiece at medium volume. when using the phone to post on forums or fill in text boxes usually the text box will become magnified so huge on its own I cannot see the words I'm editing. Most times when posting on the Sprint website I touch the Edit box and the keyboard will open up and the web page scrolls all the way to the top and I have to pull it back down to the edit box. this anomaly happens in all 3 different browsers I have on the phone it just did it now 5 times and I almost gave up is the page kept scrolling to the top and all I wanted to do was a just where I was in the text edit box. The phone has many other issues problems that may or may never be fixed. Do your research and don't get stuck with the two year contract expensive phone that you might have to deal with all these issues until you give up and perhaps fork over more money to do a buy out of your contract. The phone does have some positive features such as a very bright screen and a very large screen. But as of now most of the apps I use on the phone installed by Samsung for Sprint don't function very well and not as I expected.all the calls I made today the call quality was horrible. I have a few days left until my mandatory exchange the passes, believe me I won't miss the date. do a Google search for "note 3 garbled voice or WiFi issues" and you will bring up multiple hi profile web sites verifying the defects with the note 3.
ProsBig buttons, big bright screen, battery
ConsDrops calls, Price, Did not meet expectations, horrible voice call quality
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, horrible voice call sound
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
