I like the ease of use of this camera. The only thing I would like to have added to the camera is simpler set of instructions for some of the more unconventional functions.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Rubber Grip
on December 9, 2012

Just purchased the T3 bundle from a department store (2 lenses 18-55mm and 70-300mm, starter lenses). The camera is very powerful and has lots of features. The one thing that surprises me is the lack of a rubber textured grip. I have a Canon T50 (yes, its old and it works fine) and that camera has a GREAT rubber grip. Why did Canon exclude a rubber textured grip on the T3? I cannot think of a single reason to exclude a rubber textured grip.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor build quality, missing rubber textured grip

Great for beginners! I bought this to take pictures of my new baby and have been relatively pleased. Overall, it's been great and I have gotten some great images. Now that I've been using it for 6 months it leaves some things to be desired. Here's a list of my gripes;
1: kit lens. Gives you tack sharp images maybe 1 in 5 shots
2: high ISO gives a lot of noise
3: metering: I find myself having to meter the sky and use exposure compensation of -2 stops with a circular polarizer just to get the sky not to blow out and loose data. Fixable in post but annoying.
Pros: good battery life, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor image quality, noisy

Very satisfied

The T3i is a great choice for an entry-level DSLR and I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. I have been amazed at the image quality, whether using an automatic mode, being fully creative in manual mode, or anything between. This is my first DSLR and yet it's making me look like a "pro" already with little experience. The difference between this camera and an average cheap point-and-shoot or smartphone camera is huge. I would recommend this camera to anyone, especially those new to DSLRs. The controls and menus are well thought-out and easy to use, so you can quickly and easily experiment with different settings to learn more about how they affect the photos. The instruction manual is well-written. One of the reasons I chose the T3i over some other similar Canon cameras was the swivel LCD display. It turns around to protect the screen during storage, and it can help you see what you're doing if you need to reach over a fence, wall, crowd, etc. or use a short tripod. This camera has so far been very fun to use and has given me zero frustration, unlike every other camera I've ever owned. I am more excited about photography than ever, thanks to this camera. It is nice to know that if it ever comes time to step up to another Canon body, I can still use the same lenses and accessories that I use with my T3i.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, accepts wide range of lenses/accessories
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, neck strap uncomfortable

I reviewed the other options that were out there and this camera was definetly worth its price. I was used to shooting with point and shoot cameras but this was a great buy for the money. My pictures are great and I am still learning to use all of the features that this camera has to offer.
Pros: Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy
