With the astrophotography, there is the focus issues with 18-55mm zoom lens, some of them were out of focus little bit, like the planets and stars.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Shaky operation, Difficult to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

This camera is alright. I bought it because it was all I could afford. My plan is to have a cheap body with nice glass in front. I do not mind the plastic exterior. Having the SD slot on the bottom can be annoying, depending on your use. Also I found the noise to be terrible with this camera.
Basically, I would only recommend this camera if you want a basic DSLR. If you think you want to "grow" as a aspiring photographer get something nicer.
Pros: price, ef-s and ef lens
Cons: noise, sd slot location
I would recommend this to a friend!

Satisfied Photo Enthusiast

After three years with my Canon Powershot XS10, I upgraded to the Canon Rebel T3i/600D, for more features and lens options. I'm a photo enthusiast. I like travel pictures, cityscapes, close-up daily living shots, nature, and sometimes portraits of family and friends. The T3i kit was a good deal for me, since it included a couple of basic, yet excellent, zoom lenses. I then purcased a Canon EF-S 50mm f/1.8 lens, and a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lens. Now I'm set. The T3i does everything I need it to do for my level of skill, and as I learn more, I'm able to get even better at using the camera and lenses. My family and friends have commented on how professional my pictures are beginning to look! Hooray! I love Canon!
Pros: lens options, mode options, image quality
Cons: canon lens hoods can be tricky and confusing.
